Two weeks ago I finished my fat loss phase.
And if I'm being honest, the first week wasn't perfect.
There was some celebratory food, a couple of days where things didn't quite go to plan, and a reminder that the end of a diet doesn't mean the hard work stops...it just changes shape.
Because what comes next is its own discipline entirely.
The reverse phase isn't about eating more and enjoying the ride. It's about resetting the body carefully, bringing calories back up slowly, staying lean, and avoiding the rebound that undoes everything you've worked for.
Some days over these two weeks that felt fine. Other days it's been a genuine challenge to hold myself in place when I could easily have justified letting things slide.
But that's exactly the point. This is where the real standard gets tested.
Not when you're in the middle of a diet with a clear goal in front of you...but in the weeks after, when the structure loosens and the temptation is to exhale and drift.
I'm currently sitting at ~187lbs. Next week another 200 calories a day gets added, gym performance becomes the priority, and the goal for the next six months is to move things forward slowly and while staying as lean as possible.
I share this because the men I work with are on the same road.
The process isn't always clean, and the weeks aren't always perfect. But you hold the line, you adjust, and you keep moving forward.
That's what walking the walk actually looks like from the inside.
