We are a small group of keen anglers that run a fishing club on the Ballinderry River in the Cookstown area aiming to improve and maintain the river.

We were formally known as Kings Bridge angling club. Our stretch: Kildress, Cabin wood, and the Grange.

Last weekend, we enjoyed a well-deserved day off from our usual work party 😁
One of our team members happened to be down that direction anyway and spotted a fallen tree blocking the path.
Wasn't too long before he had it was taken care of and the pathway opened back up for people out enjoying the walk 🚶🚶‍♀️🐕‍🦺

Yesterday's work party involved the removal of old metal that's been dumped and laying there for god knows how long and numerous trees that were causing blockages in the river.
We were lucky enough that Raymond arrived in the tractor to lend a helping hand otherwise we would still be down there tackling it 💪

We have installed new signs and a life ring at the Glenavon stretch.

All anglers are required to park in the upper car park at all times. Those with a valid disabled badge may use the designated bays located in the lower car park.

A bin will be installed in the coming weeks, so please make use of it and avoid leaving rubbish along the banks.

Thanks

Another work party out today and probably the best weather we have received for it so far. 🌤️

You couldn't stop these men if you tried to 💪
Out volunteering their time every Saturday morning for the betterment of the river.

Week by week access points improve and more pools get opened up.🤩
