Corby Kingswood vs Rockingham Rovers

Unfortunately, it just wasn’t our day as we came away with a 2-1 defeat to Rockingham Rovers.

Key players missing definitely hindered us, with a few lads having to play out of position, but ultimately, the drive and desire just wasn’t there from us. Rockingham wanted it more and deserved the result.

An own goal certainly didn’t help our cause either! 😬

It’s disappointing, especially coming off the back of two great performances, but football is like that — you’re going to have days where things just don’t click.

We know we’re capable of much better, and Sunday is one we’ll learn from and move on from.

🏟️⚽️ FROM AROUND THE GROUNDS ⚽️🏟️

💙 U9 VIKINGS CONTINUE THEIR JOURNEY 💙

On Saturday, our U9 Vikings took to the field for just their third game of the season, coming up against a strong Geddington side who are certainly no strangers to this level of football and the competition that comes with it.

The Vikings knew they were going to have to give absolutely everything if they wanted to get something from the game. 💪⚽️

In the end, the result didn’t go our way, but sometimes football is about much more than the final score.

This game was packed with positives, learning opportunities and moments that will help build character within this young team. Every game gives the players a better understanding of what is required and prepares them for the challenges they may face as the season progresses. 📈

There was plenty for both managers to be proud of, with the game showcasing great goals, strong tackles, brilliant team play and, most importantly, fantastic respect between both sets of players. 👏⚽️

For the Vikings, playing only their third competitive game together, these experiences are invaluable. We’ll take the lessons, work on them in training and continue moving forward together.

There’s plenty more to come from this group! 🔥

This young man has had an outstanding first three games for the Vikings, but anyone who knows him knows just how high he sets his own standards.

This week, our Player of the Match award goes to Dylan — and it is thoroughly deserved! 👏🔥

Just like every week, Dylan gave absolutely everything. He plays with his heart, battles for every ball and gives his all for the badge and his teammates from the first whistle to the last.

What a fantastic performance from the Corby Kingswood Eagles today! 🔥👏

The Eagles produced an incredible all-round display, playing some brilliant football and putting together a dominant team performance from the first whistle to the last. ⚽️💪

While the 11–1 result was impressive, what pleased the coach most was the attitude, togetherness and encouragement shown by every single player. 🖤🤍

The way the players supported one another throughout the game was fantastic to see. Whether it was celebrating a teammate's success, encouraging each other or working hard for the team, the Eagles showed exactly what being part of a team is all about. 👏🦅
