Back to league action for the lads today looking to get another 3 points!

Quick start for Weldon with the front 3 looking dangerous!! Didn’t take long to break the deadlock - In the 8th min - Louis keeps ball in near half way line and pings a beautiful cross field ball to find Isaac at back post who volleys home first time - 1-0 WELDON!!

19th min - Isaac shows his pace and great first touch - he drives past his man to by line and keeps his composure to square for Jardine to smash home - 2-0 WELDON!!

First half was all Weldon who were looking to kill the game off before HT.

We found that third goal 5 mins before HT - Bradley with a lung busting run down the right flank - finds Jardine in box who collides with keeper then bounces back up to tap home - 3-0 WELDON!!

The boys didn’t really come out in the second half - some lacklustre football let Drayton work there way back into the game.

They scored two goals to make it a cagey last 5-10 mins but the boys held out for a massive 3 points!

Massive game of two half’s!

🔴 Full Time ⚫️

Another 3 points on the road for the reserves today.

The hosts scored first after an attempt of a save from today’s DOTD Kenzie was dropped in front of a Hackleton player who fired home.

Stepped up a gear as we went into the half 2-1 up after goals from Nathan Fitz and another for Ewan Logue and assists for Sam Moon and Bradley Paul.

The hosts equalised from a penalty in the second half but again we stepped up and Ewan got his brace after another Sam assist and John slotted a penalty home.

Harry Reed also seen red today after a couple of harsh words to the referee.

Both teams in league action today as the first team host Drayton Grange and the reserves travel to face Hackleton Harriers.

Both teams kick off at 14:30 so if you have nothing planned come and support either team today!

League action for both teams this weekend.

The First Team are at home v Drayton Grange and The Reserves travel to face Hackleton Harriers. Both games kick off at 14:30!

Pitch is looking fantastic..amazing what a bit of rain can do 👀

Weldon made the journey over to NN7 for the first round of the County Cup. After hosting Milton a few weeks ago we knew we would be in for a tough game!

Game was bitty and neither side could really get their football going.

Milton take lead whilst Weldon keeper lying on the deck after making a save discolating his finger, still managed to pull off a second save but in the end Milton capitalised to take the lead - 1-0 MILTON!!

HT - got to be better and get the ball moving.

We started a bit better second half but game was very end to end with no real clear cut chances until Thomas on his debut slots a delightful through ball to Spence who out muscles his defender and megs the keeper with a tidy finish to equalise - 1-1!!!

Game finishes 1-1 and we enter the lottery of a penalty shootout.

Carlton, Frank, Isaac, Ciaran and Spencer step up confidently and despatch their penalties.

Mark saves number 6 for Milton then Jambo calmly steps up and finishes with ease!

Weldon win 6-5 on penalties!!

Not our finest football by a long shot but decent teams find a way to win - might not have been pretty but a win is a win and we are in the hat for the second round.

🔴 Full Time ⚫️

A dominant display in round one of the Area Cup for the reserves as it ends 6-0.

Ewan scored 3 tap ins, Lee scored a tidy finish, Brad got put in behind and slotted it home.

Corben got on the end of a long throw in the penalty spot and volleyed the ball home with a first time finish. Clinical some would say 👀
