💚🖤⚽️ Dunlop Fc u11's Green Fall in End to End Game ⚽️🖤💚
Dunlop Fc u11's Green last sunday travelled to Lillington and played out a very entertaining game for all. Dunlop started the game on the front foot and went into an early lead when Rocco managed to beat the keeper to the ball and play it through for Owen to tap in. Lillington then began to find their feet in the game and before we knew it, Dunlop were behind going into the break.
Lillington have some very quick and tricky wide players and our half time talk was to tell the team just to be patient when defending and not "dive in" to challenges.
Dunlop started the strongest again in the second half and immediately Theo found Owen with a great through ball, Owen calmly slotted into the far corner for his second of the game.
Very quickly after this, Lillington managed to score again. But this seemed to pump Dunlop up,
Dunlop piled on the pressure and managed to win a corner, Theo swung in a brilliant cross for Noah to meet at the far post with a thumping header. Again however, Lillington went and scored another to keep their lead intact.
Dunlop came back again though when Theo was fouled in the box for a penalty, he calmly stepped up and smashed it home.
A real end to end affair that Dunlop just couldn't come out on top of but the attacking play at times was superb and something we've been working on, so it's pleasing to see that come out in the lads on the pitch.
Goals this week were scored by:
⚽️⚽️ Owen
⚽️ Noah
⚽️ Theo (p)
⭐️ Star Player this week:

💚🖤⚽️ Dunlop Fc u11's Green Victorious ⚽️🖤💚
Dunlop Fc u11's Green hosted Bulkington Vipers this week. Dunlop had played well in recent weeks but had been unable to get the result that those performances had deserved.
Dunlop played with confidence in the opening phases and created plenty of opportunities to take the lead, with shots being fired in from all angles. Dunlop did eventually take the lead when a corner came in and was only half cleared, the ball fell to Owen who smashed in from distance into the far corner. A few more chances came before half time but it was the one goal that seperated the sides at the break.
Bulkington managed to find an equaliser mid way through the second half with some confusion in the Dunlop defence but Dunlop did take control of the game from there on and piled pressure on the Bulkington back line. Owen found a great ball foward find Rocco who managed to find the angle for a close range shot that found the back of the net and saw Dunlop reclaim the lead. Dunlop managed to see the game out with some strong football, determined performances and plenty of hard work this week.
This weeks goal scorers:
⚽️ Owen
⚽️ Rocco
Star Player this week:
This weeks Star player was awarded to both Oliver and Noah this week. Oliver saw him face his old side this week and really got stuck in to the game, looked after the ball really well and showed great determination to help the team. Noah also showed great determination, worked his socks off in the front line to win the ball high up the pitch and feed his team mates with smart passes. Well done both.

💚🖤⚽️ Dunlop Fc u11's Green Fall in Close Encounter⚽️🖤💚
Dunlop Fc u11's Green hosted Chaplesfield colts this week and it was a great game for both sides with the quality of football played but also the fact it was played in great spirits.
Dunlop can consider themselves unlucky in this game, it was a game of very tight margins. Dunlop played very well from the opening stages, using the ball brilliantly, playing from back to front with urgency but a calmness that allowed them to control possession of the ball.
Midway through the first half Dunlop conceded on the break after having a few chances of our own. This didn't deter the lads though, they got straight back in control of the ball and continued to play good football.
The second half was very similar with Dunlop piling on pressure in stages but still unable to take their chances. The game was decided by just the one goal which at this age, doesn't happen all that often but it was a great game for all.
Well done on a fine performance Dunlop.
Star Player this week:This weeks Star player wasn't straight forward to decide because of so many good performances throughout but Keylan was the one that pipped the other to the post for this decision. He was calm as ever, skillful and organised the whole team extremely well. Well done Keylan.

💚🖤⚽️ Dunlop Fc u11's Green Suffer Cup Defeat ⚽️🖤💚
Dunlop Fc u11's Green hosted new opposition this week in the form of Racing Club Warwick Gold. Dunlop made a brilliant start to the game this week as in the opening minutes they went infront, some great pressure high up the pitch from Rocco caused the opposition goalkeeper to kick his clearance straight to Shay, who struck from distance and saw his effort land in the back of the net.
From this moment however, Dunlop struggled to retain possession and were now on the back foot. Rcw managed to get themselves level and then take the lead with two almost identical goals. They extended their lead before half time and Dunlop's confidence with the ball began to take a blow. At half time we spoke about trying to keep the play simple, trying to remain calm and working harder than the opposition to win the ball, but also to retain it.
Rcw really added to the pressure in the second half with chances for Dunlop not coming around very often.
As usual after cup matches, Dunlop took part in a penalty shootout which they managed to win after a long sudden death period.
All in all, not the best outcome for our Dunlop lads this week but we reflect and go again next week.
⚽️ Goals this week:
⚽️ Shay
⭐️ Star Player this week:
This weeks Star player was picked by the lads this week and that was Owen.
When we discussed what we wanted to change in the second half, Owen showed he had fully listened and wanted to turn things around for his team, he began jockying his player brilliantly and waiting for support but also showed good skill when supporting further up the pitch, well done Owen.

💚🖤⚽️ Dunlop Fc u11's Green Fall to First Defeat of 2026 ⚽️🖤💚
Dunlop Fc u11's Green were away this week to our friends at Coventry Sphinx in the first game of the spring trophy event. Due to recent weather, Dunlop have been unable to play for many weeks and it showed on this occasion. Dunlop were not at the races today going a couple of goals behind in the early stages of the game. A bit slow with reactions which forced us to defend a lot more than we would like to have. Just before half time though, Theo broke through midfield and let loose a good strike towards goal, the goalkeeper parried it and Rocco was on hand to convert the rebound. A goal that Dunlop desperately needed and if half time didn't come so soon after, might have sparked a reaction.
Early into the second half and Dunlop conceded once more after some hesitancy amongst a few of the lads. After that little blip the lads pulled things together and really pushed on. Dunlop began to create a few openings and really put some pressure on the Sphinx defence but unfortunately couldn't get themselves back in the tie. A much improved second half but Dunlop fell to their first defeat of the year.
⚽️ Goals this week:
⚽️ Rocco
⭐️ Star Player this week:
This weeks Star player was Freddie. Freddie was a real handful all day and showed great class, particularly in defence where he was brilliant at reading the game and winning the ball, showing great composure and working the ball into good attacking areas. Well done Freddie.

💚🖤⚽️ Dunlop Fc u11's Green Record Solid Win ⚽️🖤💚
Dunlop Fc u11's Green travelled to play our old friends at Racing Club Warwick this week. It's been a while since our last encounter but they're always good games.
Dunlop began the game well and kept RCW in their own half for large spells but went behind when a cross into the box found it's way over everybody and straight in. Dunlop rallied back though and kept the pressure on. That pressure resulted in an equaliser as Rocco made a run down the left, his pull back fell to Mikhail who calmly struck past the keeper. And that's how the first half ended, all square.
Dunlop came back out and were pressing really high up the pitch to try and win the ball back in good territory. Freddie intercepted a goal kick which fell to Kyan, his smart pass found Freddie again who found the finish to put Dunlop in front. Dunlop then had a couple of corners that were well defended untill the ball came out to around 25 yards out and Shay managed to drive the ball first time like a rocket into the bottom corner for his first ever Dunlop goal, what a way to get it too.
RCW managed to pull a goal back around 5 minutes later but before anyone could get a bit nervy, Theo found a pass to Rocco who drove forward and slotted past the RCW keeper to secure the win.
⚽️ Goals this week:
⚽️ Mikhail
⚽️ Freddie
⚽️ Shay
⚽️ Rocco
⭐️ Star Player this week:
This weeks Star player was Freddie. Freddie was asked to play a number of different positions this week and was not fazed at all, he gave everything to help the team and capped off a fine display with a goal. Well done Freddie.

💚🖤⚽️ Dunlop Fc u11's Green Back in League Action ⚽️🖤💚
Dunlop Fc u11's Green were at away this week in our first game back since the Christmas break and it's felt like a long long time without football.
We travelled to play Brinklow f.c.
Dunlop started the stronger of the sides and took an early lead when the ball was fed into the box, Rocco's shot deflected into the path of Noah who tucked it away calmly. After the goal, Dunlop absorbed a bit of pressure and conceded an equaliser but managed to see that out untill half time where we could re-group.
The second half got underway and Dunlop began playing some good football once again, forcing the Brinklow goalkeeper into some smart saves. Freddie found himself being brought down in the box by no less than 3 defenders only to have his claim for a penalty harshly waved away by the referee. Dunlop kept at it though and at times we it felt like we were committing forward so much we could end up conceding on the counter but that never came. The game ended a draw and although it's not a bad result, we probably felt we could've won the game on the day. Take nothing away from Brinklow, they played a fine game, it was a good one for the neutral.
⚽️ Goals this week:
⚽️ Noah
⭐️ Star Player this week:
This weeks Star player(s) were Keylan, for his solid defensive display, calmly looking to find a team-mates feet when winning the ball back and commanding the back line. And Rocco who's endless running and constant pressure made life hard for the Brinklow defence all game. Great job lads.

💚🖤⚽️ Dunlop Fc u11's Green Suffer First Defeat of the Season ⚽️🖤💚
Dunlop Fc u11's Green were at home versus Coundon Cockerells this week.
After weeks of great football Dunlop went into the game with confidence but were pegged back early in this game as Coundon applied lots of pressure to the Dunlop goal. Coundon took the lead midway through the first half and Dunlop struggled to get any rhythm in the opening exchanges.
In the second half Dunlop came out and began to play more and looked better on the ball, however, Coundon managed to grab another. This didn't stop Dunlop playing some decent football and after numerous corners and opportunities, Kyan managed to pull one back as his driven corner was deflected in. Rocco then came close as his effort hit the top of the crossbar. Dunlop kept piling on the pressure and were close to an equaliser on many occasions but Coundon ultimately managed to seal their victory with another goal near the end of the game.
Obviously not the result we wanted but not a bad performance from the side, we were just missing that clinical edge we've had so far this season.
⚽️ Goals this week:
⚽️ Kyan
⭐️ Star Player this week:
This weeks Star player was Kyan, over the last few weeks we've pushed Kyan to be braver with the ball, try to take his man on and be confident in his footballing ability. Today he showed that superbly well by creating opportunities throughout the game and even claiming a goal for the team. Well done Kyan.

💚🖤⚽️ Dunlop Fc u11's Green Continue Solid Run of Form ⚽️🖤💚
Dunlop Fc u11's Green were away this week versus Coventry Sphinx. A very tough opposition who are calm in posession and press really well together, we had played Sphinx recently and knew only too well how tough this game would be. Dunlop began the game under a fair bit of pressure but realised that a direct approach might be better suited in this game to help get past the high press from Sphinx. Dunlop had managed to win a number of corners and it was another that led to the first goal, a ball in from Kyan led to the ball bouncing around, Rocco settled the ball and Freddie was there to lift the ball over the goalkeeper to give Dunlop the lead and that was how it remained untill half time.
The second half was much like the first, with Dunlop taking on pressure but managing the opportunities for Sphinx really well and counter-attacking when the chance came. With around 10 minutes to play, Keylan won the ball and released Rocco who slotted the ball away to double Dunlop's lead. With a few minutes on the clock left to play, Sphinx managed to get a goal back to make it very nervy but Dunlop stood firm to see out the result.
⚽️ Goals this week:
⚽️ Freddie
⚽️ Rocco
⭐️ Star Player this week:
This weeks Star player was Ewan, he's always a solid player in goal for Dunlop but this week we depended on him more than usual and he stood big and strong. Ewan pulled off some very important saves this week which was vital in the outcome overall.

💚🖤⚽️ Dunlop Fc u11's Green Triumph in Local Derby ⚽️🖤💚
Dunlop Fc u11's Green hosted Coventry Pheonix Blaze this week.
Dunlop have been on a brilliant run of form so far this season and took on a host of different challanges and this week was a test of physicality and perseverance.
The first half was quite a tight affair with not many chances either side but a good solid (but fair) battle all across the pitch which made for an entertaining first half that was only seperated with a moment a quick thinking. Keylan sat the ball down for a free kick just at the half way line and saw space for Kyan to run into so he played a lovely ball along the floor which Kyan took in his stride and sent forcefully across the goal and managed to squeeze it's way in. That's how it stays untill half time.
The second half Dunlop absorbed a bit of pressure without really conceding any chances of note and then went from strength to strength. With around 15 minutes to play Theo sent a ball into the box for Rocco who had his shot blocked, it fell out to Oliver who played the ball out to Kyan and he made no mistake by striking at goal for his and Dunlop's second of the game. The goal scoring was rounded off when Rocco played a ball through to Theo, he drove forward and sent the ball towards goal only to find the keeper off his line and the ball found it's way straight in the net.
Another solid win this week against a strong side.
⚽️ Goals this week:
⚽️⚽️ Kyan
⚽️ Theo
⭐️ Star Player this week:
This week the coaches decided that Star player would go to Keylan, he was resolute throughout the match and took on the advice of the coaches really well today to improve his game and the outcome for the team. A very good performance Keylan, well done.

💚🖤⚽️ Dunlop Fc u11's Green Back In League Action ⚽️🖤💚
Dunlop Fc u11's Greens travelled away to Coventry Copsewood Girls this week in their first league game after the recent cup success. We had played Copsewood during that cup run and they proved to be one of the best footballing teams we've faced this season so our aim this week was to guard and protect, then be clinical on the break. Dunlop went into the game with the bare 9 available which meant tiredness would likely set in at some point during the game.
The game began and Dunlop, as expected, had to ride an early storm of Copsewood pressure. The lads were very disciplined in their shape and listened to instruction brilliantly well. A little tweak to our shape after 15 minutes seemed to help Dunlop play a little more football and create more opportunities. The deadlock was broken when Kyan delivered a trademark peach of a corner for Mikhail to tap in at the far post. Mikhail was on hand to double the Dunlop lead after Theo worked some space for a cross down the left into Rocco, he turned and had a shot blocked but it fell kindly to Mikhail who smashed home from close range.
At half time we just asked for more of the same, keep the pressure on, show opponents into wide areas and try to team up and counter when possible.
With around 40 minutes on the clock, Theo made another mazy run forward, crossed into the path of Kyan, who managed to strike past the keeper to make the tie a little more comfortable. Copsewood would not give in though and when Dunlop began to lose a little focus, Copsewood created some space down their left hand side, hit a fierce shot which was saved but only into the path of the Copsewood forward who tapped home. Dunlop sealed the victory though when Theo made another run forward on the left side, crossed the ball towards Noah who was in the right place at the right time to tap home.
All in all, a very pleasing result against strong opposition, we felt the team showed a very mature performance across the pitch with their positional discipline and energy.
⚽️ Goals this week:
⚽️⚽️ Mikhail
⚽️ Kyan
⚽️ Noah
⭐️ Star Player this week:
This week there was a few candidates but the coaches felt that Noah had definately deserved the Star player award. Noah was a constant threat to the Copsewood back line, he pressed really well from the front and held the ball for his team-mates to get forward in support for the whole 60 minutes. Noah was rewarded with a goal near the end but he very much earned that goal this week. Well done Noah.
