DAY 5 | - Our last full day… 😢 BUT WHAT A PARTY! 🎉
Our final full day at the International Children’s Games 2026 certainly didn’t disappoint! 🩵
The Closing Ceremony at Hualien County Stadium was an incredible way to round off the Games, with one huge celebration alongside our friends from across the world. 🎉
But our favourite moment actually came earlier in the day at the pool. Every one of our Track & Field athletes headed over to support the swimmers in their final events, creating an amazing atmosphere. The noise from Team Coventry was unbelievable, and our swimmers responded with a brilliant relay win, cheered home every stroke of the way. Moments like that are what these Games are all about. 🏊👏
Back at the track, our athletes carried on making international friends, this time with the Oakland relay team after they stormed to victory in the boys’ 4x100m final. 🤝
We also caught up with our friend from Greece who added another piece of Team Coventry merch to the collection he’s been building since we hosted the Games in 2022! 🩵
🩵 We really appreciate all of your support from back home! 🩵

DAY 4 | - Another action-packed day for Team Coventry! 🩵
🏊 At the pool, our fantastic swimmers took to the relays and did us incredibly proud, taking on some of the strongest teams from around the world. It was a brilliant opportunity to compete at such a high level and gain invaluable international experience.
🏃 On the track, it was a busy day packed with finals featuring our Team Coventry athletes. Nick and Eden both came heartbreakingly close to the podium, missing out on medals by just 0.01 seconds in their respective 100m finals – margins don’t get much tighter than that! There were also more personal bests, spirited performances, and plenty of reasons to celebrate across the team. We’re so proud of every athlete giving their all.
🌃 We rounded off the day with a visit to the vibrant Dongdamen Night Market, soaking up the atmosphere, sampling local food, enjoying the games and live music, and embracing the sights, sounds and culture of Taiwan. It was an unforgettable evening… and yes, one or two members of staff were brave enough to try the famous stinky tofu! 😄
Days like these are what the International Children’s Games are all about – competing, learning, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
🩵 We really appreciate all of your support from back home! 🩵

🩵 From Team Coventry to the Commonwealth Podium 🥈
10 years ago, JAKE M1NSHULL’s international journey began with Team Coventry at the International Children’s Games in Taiwan, pictured wearing athlete number 1016.
Jake’s journey from ICG athlete to Commonwealth silver medallist shows just how powerful these games can be for the next generation!
Now, 10 years later exactly, Team Coventry is back in Taiwan competing at the 2026 Games. We hope Jake’s success inspires them to dream big.
Congratulations, Jake. Everyone at Team Coventry is proud 🩵🏴

DAY 3 | - Intense competition!
🏊 In the pool, all our swimmers battled the tropical conditions - and water that keeps warming up - against some tough competition, with Bosco reaching the 100m Backstroke Final 👏🔥
🏟️ At the incredible Hualien County Stadium, set against a stunning mountain backdrop, our track athletes also competed brilliantly, with several qualifying for the semi-finals!
Marly is leading the way with recovery too! 💆
🌆 In the evening, we were honoured to join the ICG Committee and thank them for their continued partnership with Coventry 🩵🤝
🎙️ Zoe and the Coaches joined Danny in the Elephant’s Den, where we heard all about their experience of the Games so far. Link in bio to watch the whole episode.

DAY 2 | : Opening Ceremony & more!
🌍 Yesterday saw the Games officially opened with a tremendous Opening Ceremony, where we celebrated alongside our international friends from across the world! What a show, Hualien! 👏🇹🇼
🏟️ The teams also visited the Swimming and Athletics venues – both are seriously impressive and we’re excited to get competition underway! 🏊♂️🏃♀️
📋 Our coaches attended the Sport Technical Meetings to learn the competition formats, understand the rules, and ask any final questions ahead of the action.
🎙️ Enzo & Sam joined Dec for a very honest first episode of The Elephant’s Den... 👀 Enzo’s verdict? “It’s pretty terrible!” 😂 Watch now via the link in our bio.
