First fishing since….. don’t really remember 😜

Now that’s a bargain!!!

Mark P-B here, had a pike, perch and zander today. The Gand Slam! The pike had two trebles in it one buried deep down its throat preventing any food passing into its stomach. Gary Stocking helped and we cut the hook points off totally with all three still barbed! If you need to use them please crimp down two of the barbs on trebles, leaving only one for the bait.

We did the cutting with good quality side cutters we always carry, then picking the points and barbs out with forceps releasing the rest of the hook with the loose second treble.

The trace was very fine wire, possibly 10lb strain. It looked like the pike had bitten through it. No room for fine wires or even fluorocarbon as traces where pike may take your bait!

Also no photos of the pike as a speedy return was worth more than any picture in this case. Here is the picture of the perch 👍

A new fence has been put up at Hillmorton Locks. Whoever made it did a great job and even unscrewed the sign from the old post and screwed it to a new one👍
