When you work in schools in to help them out of challenging circumstances, It can suck the life out of you. I want to be fun and dynamic and change the world.
But I have to remind myself one day at a time …
Respect to my fabulous next door who dressed up as the queen of hearts whilst I could only manage to continue being the queen of farts! 😝
Huge respect to all my fellow who like me had the best intentions but just managed to show up yesterday!

I am not my trauma.
But I’ve def had my fair share of traumatic experiences;
I am not the girl that was brought up by immigrant parents with limited experiences. That had to fight for the privilege of an education. But I am.
I am not the woman who was due to have a healthy baby boy but instead had a child with profound learning disability and 24/7 medical needs. But I am.
I am not the woman who shed blood, sweat and tears to climb the career ladder and was left disillusioned and jobless. But I am.
I am not the woman who lost her mother during COVID and never got to say goodbye. But I am.
But I refuse to “be” the trauma. Instead, I’ll do the hard work.
I’ll find the strength to pull out the core of the pain that tries to hold me back. I’ll continue to work on healing the wounds of the past and make peace with them.
You?

Let’s replace conduct and capability with confidence and motivation.
When managing and leading people’s performance, I am often asked by HR whether it’s a conduct or capability issue?
But I believe we should be questioning confidence and motivation instead.
Having invested in my own professional development as a coach and equipping myself with positive psychology tools, I feel empowered. With this training and knowledge of the human condition, I lead teams forward by adopting a coaching leadership style.
In my interim headteacher roles and school improvement roles, It is my mission to enable leaders in school to deepen their understanding of an individuals’ performance.
As such, questions and reflections look like this;
Why do they do what they do?
What motivates them to remain steadfast?
What could be influencing their decisions right now?
What is driving their behaviour?
What could be causing their anxiety?
Given the personal challenges they are facing right now, what is the impact of this upon their teaching?
When we as leaders, come forth from a place of empathy and compassion, as opposed to challenge and confrontation, we provide a sense of psychological safety.

Yes. Yes. Yes!
How much this resonates.

“You can be kind but strong.
Empathetic but decisive
Optimistic but focused
You can be your own kind of leader, one that knows when it’s time to go.”
Thank you Jacinda Arden. Inspirational as always!

Great to receive such positive feedback from all the work I love doing!
“Suneta provided a well-being session for a meeting of Worcestershire schools head teachers, governors and business support managers. In preparing Suneta really challenged to ensure she understood what we wanted as a client, and what would be the benefit and take away for attendees. That attention to need and detail resulted in a fantastic session where through a well explained set of pillars she facilitated a motivational dialogue. This was aimed at allowing attendees take time to think about themselves and what makes them tick, and how they can help themselves get out of their own way and know themselves. So important that we are true to ourselves especially when we work with children and young people who look for role models. Suneta’s calm, straightforward and passionate style grips the audience and draws you into learning that makes you think and gets results, thank you Suneta and I cannot wait to welcome you back to Worcestershire.”

Why I meditate?
Some of the many reasons for meditating include reducing stress, cultivating a sense of peace and calm, increasing energy, slowing the aging process, improving memory, finding clarity of purpose, and even healing.
In the words of Gabrielle Bernstein…
… “In stillness we receive”
The paramount reason for making meditation a part of our daily life is to join forces with our sacred energy and regain the power of our Source (Whatever you believe in… divinity, God, the universe, source energy ...)
Through meditation, we can tap in to an abundance of creative energy that resides within us.
Through meditation we can observe our thoughts and understand ourselves.
Through meditation we can be powerful observers of our thoughts rather than victims.
OUR RACING THOUGHTS KEEP US FROM SILENCE, WHICH IN TURN KEEPS US FROM OUR GREATEST INNER STRENGTH AND WISDOM.
I want to be “in” my full alignment, connected to my source, feeling the abundant energy that is available to me. Available to us all.
This is why I mediate.

What is a positive illusion?
It’s when we pick ourselves up expecting a brighter tomorrow. An expectation that If we accept the misery of today than we can revel in the anticipation of a brighter future… a better tomorrow.
We all know someone who worked intensely all their life and soon as they reached the point of retirement… they met their demise.
So, what If your positive illusion never arrives?
Did you know we will only live an approximate 4,000 weeks?
Therefore, how does it make any sense to count down these precious moments?
Imagine what it could feel like if we lived every week in pure joy? Being who we want to be and exactly where we want to be today and everyday?
Let me tell you there is
no need to wait in anticipation of brighter days in the future.
You can reset the programmes starting NOW!

Teachers: What can you do when you are on the cusp of burnout?
If you are feeling stuck at work. There’s always something you can do. That’s the most important thing to remember!
Here’s 3 options;
1. Change your work environment (try another school)
2. Change yourself
3. Leave the profession
Talking these options through with a coach will clarify your thinking and pave a way forward.
