FIIC
Do you have FIIC syndrome? (F**k It It’s Christmas)
This is where you “justify” eating habits that you know are taking you further away from your fitness goals. It could be that on a day where you’ve already got carried away and put 6 mince pies away, then a work colleague comes around offering you some cake, you know that you “shouldn’t” or you really don’t need any, but you hear that little voice in your head say, “go on treat yourself, it is Christmas after all!”
Its this self-justification thought process that you need to become conscious of. This is what separates people who make progress and those that do not.
Now there’s nothing wrong with a little overindulgence now and again and definitely no need to feel guilty for eating tasty treats, remember there’s no “bad” foods, but when this goes on for weeks or even indefinitely rather than the odd day here and there then its something you need to be aware of. Remember it’s the diet as a whole that matters, not so much the individual meal/snack.
This obviously does not just relate to Christmas, after Christmas it is also “well there’s no point trying to improve my diet or start exercising now because its that weird no-mans land time between Christmas and new year”
Then its “oh now work has gotten mega busy, I don’t have time, I’ll do it when things quieten down”
Or “it’s raining today I won’t go to the gym, ill just train extra hard next week”
Simply understanding this and being conscious of it puts you more than halfway there to changing your habits for the better and snapping you out of an unconscious auto pilot mode.
Now where’s my chocolates at? It is Christmas after all 😉

Another good workout ticked off with Quaddy today. Gradually building back up to where we were before lockdown hit 💪🏼

Great being able to be back in the studio training clients again and being able to get myself a proper workout in. A big Genuine THANK YOU!!! to all my clients who have stuck with me all the way through lockdown, you guys are superstars 🤙🏼
Grab yourself a manly pink resistance band and get to work on your core
Banded Deadbugs are a great exercise to work your core. Only lower your leg as low as you can whilst maintaining your lower back being pushed flat against the floor.
Extra style points if you can catch it 😅
Is it just me or is anyone else missing the satisfying sound and feeling or re-racking the bar after a set? 😅

The 7 heavy hitters that when applied consistently will get you looking and feeling better.
Do not worry about which spices have fat burning properties, what the media is saying your favourite celebrity is doing to stay in shape, or any well marketed "must have " supplements no matter how convincing the advertising or influencer is, or whatever the latest "health" craze is. (nearly always BS anyway)
Focus on applying these 7 fundamentals consistently, these will be responsible for 99.9% of your results . Apply your focus where it counts and will have the biggest return for your effort 🤙🏼

It’s not about about smashing yourself in the gym once every few weeks or super restricting your food for a few days here and there
Results come from what you do MOST of the time, not SOME of the time.
This doesn’t mean you have to live in the gym though, sometimes 2-3 effective sessions per week is enough for most people 🤙🏼

Chocolates, pizza, alcohol, bread, cake aren’t bad…. Its your relationship with them that’s bad.
No food is either “good” or “bad”, “healthy” or “unhealthy” and as long as you continue to label foods this way you are most likely going to struggle with staying on track with your diet.
I’ve never met a single person who only eats unprocessed nutritious food 100% of the time, not even PTs, athletes, body builders… nobody. So you shouldn’t expect yourself to either.
You cant judge if a diet is healthy or not based on focusing on one meal or if they eat pizza at any point, you have to look at the entire diet as a whole in terms of nutrition quality, the amount of calories, then see if it is in alignment with the individual person and their goals.
In fact I consider a healthy diet to actually consist of these supposedly “off limits” foods, its far easier to stick to, your not going to hate your life by restricting yourself, helps to reduce the all or nothing binges, plus they taste amazing.
You just cant eat them all the time 😉 Work towards a diet made up from 80% minimally processed whole foods and 20% your choice.
You’ll get better long term results.
Who’s still yet to train this year then? My first workout of 2020 DONE🤙🏼
