One of the challenges of running is that when the body is in pain, a defiant mindset can’t always be applied. Instead, we’re often asked to practise two virtues that don’t always sit comfortably alongside a runner’s natural dynamism and enthusiasm: patience and rest.
Smart training challenges the instinct to always do more; it pushes back against the belief that effort alone guarantees progress. Training smart is recognising that recovery is not lost time.
In his latest blog, ‘Running into Trouble: Avoiding Injury Caused by Overexertion’, Hardik unpacks a real case from our clinic where one client’s dedication to running drifted out of sync with their body’s development. He reflects on their approach, the guidance we provided, and the sacrifices it required for their body to heal properly and prevent any lasting damage. Click the link in bio to read the blog.

31 March: Join physiotherapist Hardik and sports therapist Ari for a free 90-minute workshop focused on upper back and neck pain.
Your upper back and neck are constantly responding to stress, posture, emotional pressure, and daily habits. Persistent discomfort and chronic pain are common. While your body can gradually release tension when it feels safe, understanding these patterns and using practical strategies can help you manage pain and reduce flare-ups.
Together, Hardik and Ari will debunk common myths about posture and damage, explain why your pain keeps returning, and show you how to break the cycle.

Spring brings motivation back to running – training plans take shape and mileage starts to climb. But with that renewed enthusiasm often comes something less welcome. As distance and intensity increase, tendon-related pain can too.
Heel discomfort with the first few steps in the morning. Achilles stiffness that eases as you warm up but returns later. Shin pain that lingers after the run. That familiar ache around the kneecap we call runner’s knee.
Seasonal changes often play a role. Shifts in load, terrain, or routine can ask certain areas of the body to do more than they’re ready for – and tendons are often the first to feel it.
The encouraging reality is that ongoing pain doesn’t automatically mean you need to step away from running. In his latest blog, Senior Physiotherapist Hardik explains why tendon injuries can hang around longer than we’d like – and how targeted shockwave therapy, combined with the right progressive loading plan, can help you stick with your training. Today marks the first day of spring - officially kicking off a season of growth and an ideal time to rethink the patterns gently steering our actions. In Ari’s latest blog, ‘Breaking Bad (Habits)’, he uncovers why small, consistent actions can be more impactful than big bursts of motivation. From the two-minute rule to habit stacking, the intention is gradual improvement – progress that fits naturally into your routine.
Real change rarely arrives in dramatic moments; it grows quietly through repetition, identity, and patience. Click the link in bio to read the blog.
