Last week’s summer 5 was summery… and rainy and windy and every season in between 😂

Always a great night though thanks to our friends at Sphinx AC. Brilliant Massey turnout and some impressive results.

The return of the summer handicap last night 😎 A tough 5k route with a lovely gradual climb…!

David Phillips 1944-2026

It is with great sadness that we have to share the news of Dave’s passing yesterday. Dave was a lifelong member of the club and a true stalwart supporter of everything we did. Our thoughts are with Robina and all of Dave’s family.

It’s timely in the days after the Cotswold Hilly 100 race to reflect when two of our Massey Ferguson legends decided to run the whole race solo (usually a relay of 10 runners doing 10 miles each) starting and finishing in Stratford-Upon-Avon.

Dave told us in 2019.. “We did it on 28/05/1994 and it took us 29 hrs. We started on Friday at noon in Stratford and these pictures were in many local papers. Think they sold out!! We were the first runners to do the whole 100 miles and only 2 have done it since. My club colleague with me in the photo is Terry Harvey who sadly passed away in 2018”

One of the (many!) good things about joining a friendly running club, is finding likeminded people who will join you on crazy adventures to run a 5k 😂
