ποΈ Keresley RFC are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of true club legend and stalwart, Keith Shakespear.
Keith dedicated almost half a century to Keresley RFC, only recently stepping down from the committee after an incredible 49 years of service to the club he loved so dearly.
Even then, Keith continued volunteering right until the very end as part of his beloved Dads Army Team. As our head of grounds, he was never happier than when he was out on the John E. Radford fields, proudly driving the tractor and caring for the pitches that meant so much to him.
Keiths commitment, character and presence at the club will never be forgotten, and he leaves behind a legacy woven into the very fabric of Keresley RFC.
We will share further information as it becomes available.
Rest in peace Keith, Keesh, Shakey

β¨ A huge congratulations to our own group of volunteers, who were nominated by club peers in the RFU Volunteer of the Year Awards - this included Gareth Whitehead, Spencer Atkins, Jack Morris, Sam Yorke, Antony Davies and photographed Jen Shaw & Laura Fenn ππ»
Warwickshire RFU welcomed and recognised an incredible 98 volunteers from 25 clubs at Coventry Rugby Club this weekend, celebrating the people who keep grassroots rugby going behind the scenes week in, week out. It was mentioned yesterday Warwickshire has the largest amount of recognised volunteers of all the counties, showing how incredible our county is π»β€οΈπ€
We are incredibly proud to see our club represented and recognised in this way. Volunteers are the heartbeat of rugby clubs, and this nomination is hugely deserved π€©
Thank you to Warwickshire RFU and County organisers for hosting a fantastic afternoon of recognition, hospitality and fantastic rugby with the Warwickshire v NLD County Championship fixture - was a great game to watch! β€οΈπ€π

π Yesterday we celebrated our incredible Minis & Juniors up to U15s, along with the fantastic coaches, volunteers and team support behind them. And what a celebration it was β medals, certificates, prizes, gifts, singing and dancing all round!
β¨ A special mention goes to Danielle Albutt, who collected the Mini & Junior Club Person of the Year award. A hugely deserved recognition, and your commitment throughout the season certainly hasnβt gone unnoticed β¨
Happy rugby days, memories made and now we look ahead to the Colts Presentation at the end of the month to round off the awards season! π
ππ» A massive well done and thank you to everyone involved in organising, supporting, coaching and mentoring this section β without your dedication, none of it would be possible

β¨ Our 72ND AGM was completed and preparations for the new season are already underway! β¨
Weβre excited to have a fantastic mix of experienced committee members alongside fresh new faces bringing new ideas and energy to the club. With plenty consistently happening behind the scenes, the future is looking bright both on and off the pitch π
Volunteers do not necessarily have lots of spare time; they just have the heart to keep showing up β€οΈπ€π

π¦ πΏ LETS TALK DRAINAGE π©΅
After the success of our new pitch this season, the club has now turned its attention to the floodlit training pitch β and this week work has officially commenced! πβ¨
The club committed to installing the same high-quality drainage system that has already proven such a success on our main pitch.
The training pitch will now benefit from a full state-of-the-art drainage system, allowing training sessions and evening games to take place all year round, whatever the weather. π§οΈβ‘οΈπ
Sometimes people only see the 80 minutes on a Saturday, but these photos show the huge amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to keep improving our facilities and moving the club forward. From the planning stages to the groundwork being carried out this week, itβs all part of building something better for current members and future generations of KRFC.
Exciting times ahead! β€οΈπ€π

Today is the start of Mental Health Awareness Week. Weβre shouting loudly that great mental health care isn't just clinical, it's human. Itβs the kind voice at the end of the phone when youβre worried about rent and too unwell to work. Itβs the adviser who listens actively, rather than waiting for their turn to speak. And it's you reminding friends and loved ones that these contact details can save lives. Please share π
