The Bill Blake Memorial Award is an amazing scheme, open to all full time students in the UK, with an interest in civil protection and emergency management. The task is to answer the proposed question as an essay in 2000-3000 words: How should emergency managers define good practice in the Disaster Risk Governance of a pandemic? The winning entry will be posted in the ICPEM journal and be invited to the their annual conference, along with the chance of winning up to £400 price money!
The deadline for submissions is 31/05/2021.

We are delighted to announce that we have a guest speaker from charity Do It With Boldness. They are going to be talking about their work in Kenya and their Covid-19 appeal, as well as the placement year they offer. The event will take place on Zoom on Friday 30th October at 16:30 we look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible.

We are delighted to annouce that we have been invited to join a fundraising University Challenge Quiz on the 9th October with the Creating Better Futures charity for their Coronavirus appeal. It is a team quiz so you would like to take part either comment on this post, send us a DM or send us an email at [email protected]. Use the link bellow to find out more infomation about the charity. It will cost around £3 to take part the money raised will go towards supporting orphans and vulnerable children in Zimbabwe.

We would like to welcome you to our first event on Friday 25th September starting at 8pm. Come onto Teams and meet the committee, other members, and get to know what the society is about.
There will be a quiz followed by a Q&A and some time for everyone to get to know each other and catch up. The link to the Teams call will be posted on our page and in our Insta bio. The quiz will be on Kahoot and you will need a second device (phone works best) and either download the Kahoot app for free or use the website https://kahoot.com/.
This event is open to both members and non-members so feel free to bring your friends. We look forward to seeing you all there!
