A winning start to the season for the 1st XV as they finally got a pre-season fixture !!
Not the perfect performance but plenty of promise from the young group with many new and returning faces pulling the green and black on! Tries from Adam Dix, Robbie Brown and the returning Charlie Locke, the extras were added by Liam Phillips and Ioan Williams.
Thanks to Pill Harriers RFC for coming down and good luck for the rest of the season.

It was 2 from 2 for the club at the Fred Dunn with the Youth taking on Rumney Youth beforehand in their first league encounter of the season.

A good solid performance with tries from Eli Hickman (2), Xavier Littlewood, George Morgan (and 2 conversions), Oz Williams and Jack Llewellyn.

Thanks to everyone who game down to support the games, it was good to see a big crowd for both games and hopefully we can have a few more double headers through the season.

Cowbridge RFC lost a true gentleman and friend earlier this year. Damian Cottle lost his battle with brain cancer, and now his family is raising money for Brain Tumour Support as they honor his memory by running the London Marathon.

MORGAN HARRIS IRONMAN CHALLENGE- Raising money for Velindre.

Only 3 weeks left until the start of the season and 3 weeks until Morgan (our 8 / second row) takes on Ironman Wales for Velindre.
This has been 9 month of training which has had its challenges not only trying to avoid injury at the end of the season (didnt work) but in the change in training and also the change in contact. No matter how tough Wattstown forwards are, tarmac is far harder! Last weekend he completed the whole course over 3 days. Now he’s has to do in under 17hrs! (Easy!) This is a highly personal cause, as I know it is for so many.
If you can support, I know Morgan would be really grateful.

Mini & Junior News -

Cowbridge u13s travelled to West Wales on Saturday 29 August and fell at the final hurdle in the Lampeter 7s, losing in the final to Swansea 7 Guns - an invitational team of players selected from seven clubs in and around Swansea.

Cowbridge played some fantastic rugby during the day, scoring a hatful of tries with Oliver Williams leading the way with eight of his own.

Despite scoring two tries in the final it wasn’t enough and the strength of the opposition - effectively a district team - meant Swansea were deserving winners in the end.

Cowbridge scrum half Joseff Rodgers was named Player of the Tournament by the organisers - a major accolade given the quality of some of the players on show.
