The best of the Solent Sunbeams at North Sails Cowes Week ⛵️☀️

Designed by Alfred Westmacott in 1923, these elegant 26-foot keelboats have raced at Cowes Week for more than a century. Original wooden boats now compete on level terms with newer GRP examples, keeping the class’s heritage very much alive.

Martin and Vicky Jones’ Holly claimed the 2026 victory, followed by Roger and Becky Wickens’ Sky and Peter Taylor’s Odyssey. 🏆

Graceful lines. Serious racing. A true Solent classic.

The best of the Squibs at North Sails Cowes Week ⛵️🤎

Designed by Oliver Lee in 1967, the Squib is a compact two-person keelboat renowned for close, tactical one-design racing. Returning to Cowes Week after several years away, the fleet’s distinctive tan sails were impossible to miss.

Martin Harrison and Andy Ramsey’s Lee Deck claimed the 2026 class victory after opening the week with three straight wins. Party Hat finished second, with Marc Moncrieff’s Maverick third. 🏆

Small boat. Big character. Proper one-design racing.

Take a moment to enjoy some of our favourite frames from an epic Bicentenary edition of North Sails Cowes Week.

More than 5,000 sailors, 642 boats and 36 classes filled the Solent with colour, competition and countless moments we will never forget. From breathtaking racing and brilliant people to the energy ashore and a spectacular fireworks finale, this was Cowes Week at its very best. 🎆

Thank you to every sailor, volunteer, official, partner, local resident and visitor who helped make our 200th anniversary so special—and to North Sails for helping us begin an exciting new chapter.

The best of the Sportsboats at North Sails Cowes Week ⛵️⚡️

Lightweight boats, big asymmetric sails and high-energy crews made this one of the fastest and most colourful fleets on the Solent.

Jo Richards’ Tigger claimed the 2026 class victory, with Sparkle second and George May’s Derision third. George also collected the Under 25 Trophy after an impressive week on the water. 🏆

Fast, physical and never short of action.

The best of the Bembridge Redwings at North Sails Cowes Week ⛵️🔴

Dating back to 1897, the Redwing has been part of Cowes Week for generations. Its one-design hull and distinctive tall, narrow sail plan make the fleet unmistakable on the Solent.

James Wilson’s Quail claimed the 2026 class victory, with the Downer family’s Enigma second and Rory Morrison’s Paroquet third. 🏆
