getactiveabc is the umbrella brand for the Health and Recreation department in Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council and offers a unique mix of health and fitness activities, memberships, water sports, snow sports, dry land activities, golf and swimming. Our nine indoor leisure facilities comprise Orchard Leisure Centre, Banbridge Leisure Centre, South Lake Leisure Centre, Gilford Commun
ity Centre, Dromore Community Centre, Rathfriland Community Centre, Richhill Recreation Centre, Tandragee Recreation Centre and Keady Recreation Centre. Our outdoor facilities comprise Craigavon Golf & Ski Centre, Kinnego Marina, Kinnego Bushcraft Centre, Loughgall Golf & Country Park, South Lake Watersports, Gosford Forest Park, Clare Glen Caravan Park, Ardmore Recreation Centre, Cathedral Road Recreation Centre as well as a host of parks and open spaces including Lurgan Park, Palace Demesne, Solitude Park, Banbridge, Dromore Park, Portadown Peoples Park and Craigavon City Park incorporating Tannaghmore Gardens and Animal Farm. Our Sports Development team carry out a varied programme of activities throughout the year to get everyone active, moving and outdoors across Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon. The team also provides an important link to governing bodies of sport and Sport NI and is the βgo toβ for all sports persons from grass roots to elite athletes in the local area. The team is responsible for delivering the Sports Forum, funding for clubs, education courses, schools programmes, sport and exercise programmes for the public and the annual Sports Awards ceremony. β³ Course Maintenance Notice β³
The annual greens maintenance programme at Craigavon Golf & Ski [Silverwood] will begin on Tuesday 1 September and is expected to take 2-3 days.
During this time, golfers may be asked to skip a hole where greenkeepers are carrying out essential work, including verti-draining, scarifying, topdressing and rolling.

Orienteering Sunday at Gosford_forest! π³π§
Orchard County Orienteers welcomed nearly 100 adventurers to last Sunday's event and we are hoping to see even more this Sunday as we shake up summer for a final time!
β° Time: Starts anytime between 2pmβ4pm (courses close at 5pm)
π· Cost: Just Β£3 per map
π What to bring: Weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable footwear
π Everyone is welcome β especially first timers!
No previous experience is needed. Friendly instructions will be provided, with easier courses available to help you build confidence and explore Gosford Forest Park at your own pace.
π‘ Yellow Course β Perfect for beginners & families
Ideal for younger children (primary school age) and those new to orienteering. This course stays close to paths and is a great introduction to map reading.
π Orange Course β For those ready for a challenge
Suitable for improvers with some experience using a map and compass. This longer course takes you further off the beaten track.
π’ Light Green Course β For experienced navigators
A more challenging course through the forest and away from paths, where confident map and compass skills are needed.
π We're shaking summer up for the bank holiday weekend with additional 3.5 hour multi-activity sessions at South Lake Watersports. Only Β£15pp and suitable for age 8+ π΄ββοΈπ¦
