Muscle is Medicine 💊

In clinical practice, one of the biggest drivers of chronic back, hip, and knee pain is a lack of targeted muscular strength. Yet, so many women hesitate to strength train out of fear of getting "too big".

The truth? Muscle is extraordinarily difficult to build, but it is the most valuable tool you have for:

●Joint stability and alignment
●Injury prevention & longevity
●Active recovery and rehab

When we integrate strength coaching and biomechanics into your treatment,we aren't trying to make you "bulky"—we're making you unbreakable.

Ready to fix ongoing aches and build real, functional strength?

Hi everyone!
As many of you know, I recently stepped back into university to explore a second degree in physiotherapy. However, after starting the term, I realised very quickly that my real passion, energy, and heart belong right here in my own practice with all of you!

Trying to juggle full-time university alongside running the clinic just didn't align with the level of focus and care I want to give my business and my clients.

So, I’ve made the firm decision to leave the degree behind and dedicate 100% of my time to A.S. Sports Therapy & Injury Clinic!

What does this mean for you?
It means my clinic hours are fully restored and wide open, giving you much more flexibility to book your rehab, injury assessments, and maintenance sessions without fighting for limited slots.

If you’ve been in pain for months, one 60-minute session will not fix it. 🛑

It’s tempting to look for a quick "magic bullet," but chronic pain doesn't develop overnight—and it can't be resolved in an hour.

Pain Takes Time to Build: Aches and stiffness develop over months of repetitive strain and postural habits. Your nervous system and tissues need time to adapt and heal.

Tissue Adaptation Takes Weeks: Building true strength, repairing tendons, and restoring proper joint mechanics requires a consistent stimulus over time.

Symptom Relief vs. Fixing the Root Cause:
● Hands-on work offers fantastic short-term relief, but without addressing why the area is failing (like weak glutes or poor posture), the pain will simply return.
The Real Path to Recovery

● Detailed Assessment: Identify the exact root cause of your pain.

● Targeted Hands-On Work: Relieve acute tightness and improve joint mobility.
Progressive Rehab: Rebuild long-term strength and stability so the pain stays gone for good.

Rehab is a process, but doing it right means you won't be stuck on a treatment plinth forever.

"Isn't a Sports Massage the same as Sports Rehabilitation?" 🤔

I get asked this all the time! While soft tissue work is a fantastic tool, there is a huge difference between booking a quick massage and seeing a degree-qualified practitioner.

- Massage vs. Rehabilitation
Sports Massage Therapist: Focuses on easing surface muscle tension, boosting circulation, and general post-workout relaxation.

- Sports Rehabilitation Specialist (BSc Hons): Trained to diagnose injuries, fix joint mechanics, and resolve the root cause of chronic pain so it doesn't keep coming back.

What My First-Class Degree Means for You 🎓
Holding a 1st Class BSc (Hons) in Sport & Exercise Rehabilitation involved years of clinical science, covering:

● Spinal & Joint Mobilisations: Restoring restricted movement in your spine, hips, shoulders, and ankles.

● Biomechanical Assessment: Finding why you are in pain by evaluating your full kinetic chain.

● Targeted Exercise Rehab: Prescribing specific strength programming to permanently rebuild weak areas.

Which One Do You Need?
If you just want to loosen up tight shoulders after a long week, a sports massage is great.

If you are struggling with an injury, persistent aches, or pain that keeps returning, you need a full clinical assessment and rehabilitation plan.
