Task Force Rock: 173rd Airborne Reenactment Group We are a UK re-enactment group portraying the post Op Enduring Freedom era of the US Army 173rd Airborne.

We strive to honour the 173rd, by portraying the unit's operations, kit and equipment, as accurately as possible.

Task Force Rock: 173rd Airborne Reenactment Group is a family. 🇺🇸

4 weekends a year.

4 weekends a year to spend time with people who genuinely make you laugh, have true knowledge and passion for the kit, the 173rd and for the group's success. ❤️

4 weekends a year that always goes so quickly. But as admin, my job is to give them some memories they'll never forget. My job is to create content, capture footage and ensure the re-enactment community gets to see what Task Force Rock actually stands for 🤟📷

4 weekends a year, when the Public are visiting, we will create a genuinely professional and dynamic display for thousands of people to see and get excited about... 🤟 When the evening rolls in obviously we relax 🤣 with some ground rules of course!

Whether it's me and one of the lads being stood in front of the RAF Chinook Role Demo Team landing at Capel, or throwing an American Football on the pitch while our Captain is dressed as an inflatable Dinosaur... I'll make sure it's on camera.

Most groups will only share the most professional looking images on their group page, but I like to share the behind the scenes, the reason why Reenactment is so important for these lads. Because a few weekends a year, we get to spend time forgetting our day jobs, our stress in life and actually feel part of something awesome. 🇺🇸 🤟❤️

What's new with Task Force Rock: 173rd Airborne Reenactment Group ?

For the last 12 months our team have perfected a number of new ideas and display elements, to move with the times and produce not only something that makes our team proud, but make the public feel immersed and make better use of our equipment.

A clear direction?

We're moving towards a new curated display plan for each and every event. With active training, demonstrations and more show ground 'Patrols' in full kit to enthrawl the public and bring the display to life.

We don't just want to stand on our pitch and say "here's an M4A1, this is what it looks like" we want you to feel as though you're watching the US Military conduct a training exercise or go through the drills. In addition, the team will always be there to explain what is happening, and engage with you during any demonstration. The idea of Reenactment is to bring things to life... We hope this will do just that.

Why are we unique?

We are the only Modern US Army Airborne group in the UK displaying at the biggest and best shows on the circuit. We use real training, using real manuals. Our kit is sourced using reference photos, footage, and even speaking to serving US 173rd service personnel.

Patrols and demonstrations?

Our patrols are always a highlight at many shows, gathering interest from the public and attracting visitors to our display. We aim to build in many more during each show, in various formats in order to show the tactics, formations and procedures the US Army ACTUALLY use.

Want to see some Military Police detain and search a suspect at our forward operating base? You might!

Want to see weapons handling drills, prisoner handling drills and mine clearance drills? You might!

Our aim is to truly bring to life the modern 173rd Airborne, something you won't see anywhere else at UK shows. Our team are very excited to join you at the following shows for 2026.

Are you ready for Military Odyssey ?

Task Force Rock is changing.

We are bringing a more dynamic, visually impressive and immersive display around the country. Instead of "come and look at all our kit", come and watch the team actually live and work as a FOB, following real modern US military techniques. We will conduct training sessions, physical patrols in full kit and adapt our display depending on the show.

We can't wait for the next one!
