“I am strong (strong)
I am invincible (invincible)
I am WOMAN”

Sharing the inspiring lyrics of Helen Reddy from her 1971 single “I AM WOMAN”. These words run true today and will for years to come.
Swipe for the full song, and give it a google if you need some feminine power this week.
Happy International WOMENS day!

2021 was the “Year of the Graft”

I began the year newly unemployed and set up my online fitness business HannahFordFit.
I had such an incredible 4 months teaching so many wonderful people and helping to keep them active throughout lockdown. It was a completely new experience to run a business and something I put all my time and energy into. One of my highlights was the Mad March Marathon, where I taught 9 classes to raise money for Comic Relief!

I then started to get back into the performing arts and took a job at a Holiday Park in Dorset where I met a lovely entertainment team.

I returned to cruising which was an incredibly hard decision and one I’d previously turned down with one of my first employers, as I would miss out on my best friends wedding and my sisters first baby being born. All massive mile stones I wanted to be a part of.
But when a second cruise offer came only a week after I’d declined the first, I decided it was fate telling me to go back to sea.

Luckily, I had an incredible time back on the Carnival Miracle, I worked hard to help get the shows re installed, had my first Vocal Captain role, I even created harmonies/vocal guides and helped to adapt the Journeys show to make it covid friendly. Kindly, it was recognised and I was nominated for Team Member of the month. We achieved and overcame so much as a cast and embraced the “new normal” to ship life.
I was fortunate enough to be offered a promotion for next contract and accepted the daunting new challenge.

Then my time onboard had to be cut by 2 weeks, after an injury I sustained during one of our shows.
I was flown home and back with my family for Christmas, able to enjoy time together and meet my new born nephew!

2022 brings a lot of challenges.
Firstly, my road to recovery… for someone who loves to be active, the “slow and steady” patient approach is not something I’m keen on. But I am listening to my body and hoping for a full recovery.
Fingers crossed in time for me to take my next contract as Cast Manager!

I had hoped to re start my online classes during the uncertainty of Omicon, however that seems to be on hold.
So for now, I’m wishing you a Happy & Healthy New Year!

A body is for LIFE, not just for summer.
I’d love us to be training our bodies with the mindset that they are built to take us through the epic journey of life, not just for a cute bikini pic on the beach (which I am first to raise my hand and say I’m a lover of).
Summer is around the corner. And unfortunately so are the “Summer Shred” junkies, convincing us that we must all look like Adonis (Greek god of beauty and desire FYI).
The thing is, we are better than a statue of Adonis, because we move, we dance, we wobble, we sip cocktails with friends, and enjoy time with family... those are only some of the portions on our epic journey.
And why would we want to miss out on them, just to get a few likes on the gram?

I love photos, capturing memories from special occasions to treasure and relive. But remember how you feel whilst that photo is being taken. If you’re feeling restricted or over trained and under fed, if you turned down that ice cream that you actually wanted or didn’t attend that bbq you’d been looking forward to, will you still look back and think about it as a happy time?
I’m still encouraging you all to keep active, and I regularly check in with my family page to see how my members motivation is doing.
But please remember: Summer is only a season, your body is your life currency, don’t blow it all for one photo.

If you’re interested in joining the HannahFordFit family for class content, motivation and check ins, email/DM me for more details.

Mental Health Awareness Week.
This was me in August 2020.
Physically the fittest I’d been in years.
Mentally the most fragile I’d ever been...

This is a little insight into the Hannah ‘behind the smile’...
I want to give weight to the importance of mental health as well as physical health, and how they do not necessarily go hand in hand but each could be a life ring in the ocean for one another.

..“When you find yourself in times of trouble” don’t bottle it up, reach out to your support systems, friends, family, counsellors. Let your emotions be visitors, and they’ll pass on when they’re ready.
And remember...
“We can’t stop the waves, but we can learn to surf!”

TMI?
The pelvic floor muscles form a hammock shape from the bottom of the pelvis and support the pelvic organs (bladder, bowel, and uterus (in women).

The pelvic floor muscles control the release of urine (wee💧), faeces (poo💩)and flatus (wind💨), and delay the need to empty until it is convenient.
A weakened pelvic floor can create problems for continence in the bladder and bowel, causing for inconvenient “accidents”.
(You might not care about this⬆️BUT, You’ll want to know this⬇️)
Pelvic floor muscles are also important in men and women for sexual function.
👨‍🦰In men, it’s important for erectile function and ej*******on. (Don’t let the team down boys)
👩‍🦰In women, the voluntary contractions (squeezing) of the muscles contributes to sexual arousal. (WINNER🙌🏻)

So here I am, with my friendly reminder to incorporate kegal (pelvic floor) exercises into your weekly routine.
And you too can feel like a BOSS, when you manage to p*e in the pot and not all over your hands 👏
