Better late than never…

The 1s made it 9 on the bounce to complete a full sweep of victories against all the other teams in Div 7, leaving themselves 44 points clear of 3rd place!
After being asked to bat, it was Brodies turn for a second ton of the season, as he batted excellently for 122 as we made 284 in the first dig.
We picked up regular wickets in the chase, and although Cuckfield batted out the 40 overs, the boys had the game under control throughout.

It was a tough afternoon for the 2s away at Ifield as they were heavily beaten. Ifield wracked up 357 from their 40 overs thanks to hundreds from their opening pair. We could only manage 91 in the chase. All focus turns to this weekend in a huge game at the bottom of the table against Haywards Heath!

Big day in the hunt for promotion at Sandy Lane as the 1s host Cuckfield! Meanwhile the 2s travel over to Ifield in search of a much needed win! Go well fellas 💪🏻🏏

The 1s made it 8 wins in a row as they beat Preston Nomads in a run fest at Sandy Lane!
Nomads won the toss and elected to bat, getting off to a flying start and finding themselves 100-2 in no time. The boys gradually pegged them back, with Nomads eventually posting an imposing 285-5 from their 40 overs.
CDCC responded brilliantly with the bat, as Dan and Harry raced to 100 during the powerplay to pile the pressure straight back onto Nomads. Harry was eventually dismissed for a superb 52, but Dan continued the high rate of scoring, bringing up his second century of the season in the process.
A late flurry of wickets brought a few nerves around the pavilion, but Jacob and Craig held their nerve to see the boys over the line with an over to spare! 😅

The 2s faced a daunting task away at table toppers Crawley Super Kings with only 10 players available. CSK batted first and made 301-7 off their 40 overs. Jamie Craven, playing his first game in 8 years, was the pick of the CDCC bowlers taking 3-39 off his 5, with the other wickets shared around.
It was always going to be a tough chase, and the boys managed to get up to 139-8, with Dale converting his Sunday form into Saturday runs making a league personal best of 38 💪🏻

The 1s look to continue their fine run of form against Preston Nomads, and the 2s travel to table toppers Crawley Super Kings! Best of luck to both teams! 🏏💪🏻

The 1st XI travel down to Keymer & Hassocks, and will be looking by to try and cement a position in the top 2!

At home, the 2s will be looking to build on last week’s win, as they face Plumpton!

Last weekend saw both teams secure vital wins as we approach the business end of the season!

At home, the 1st XI came out on top against Portslade as 2nd played 3rd, a win which saw the boys finish the weekend in the promotion spaces of Div 7C as we leapfrogged our opponents! Brodie was the star once again, making a personal best 144* in our chase of 231! 👏🏻

Down the road at Newchapel, the 2s bowled excellently to restrict Lingfield to 118, which was comfortably chased thanks to a maiden league 50 for Arun Gibbons! 💪🏻

The weekend was topped off on Sunday as our Friendly XI also got a win, beating Blindley Heath in a 35 over game, with Dale also making his first 50 for the club! 😎
