Some of the best things we build here were never the plan⌠they just happen along the way.
It starts with a class. A session. A shared moment of effort.
And before you know it, it becomes something more.
Friendships. Real ones.
The kind that wouldnât have existed if not for walking through the same doors, maybe at a different time, but on the same path.
Instructor Sam & Bridgette are a perfect example of that⌠but theyâre just one of many.
Across our Dojo, our studios, and our fitness space, there are bonds being formed every single week.
Different people. Different journeys.
But moving, learning, and growing side by side.
Itâs more than training.
Itâs shared experiences.
Itâs showing up together.
Itâs building something that lasts beyond the sessions.
Thatâs the quiet power of it all.
Not just what we do⌠but who we become connected to along the way.

Easter gives us a momentâŚ
A pause.
A breath.
A checkpoint in the journey.
Not to look for perfection,
but to recognise how far weâve come.
Weâre open as usual this Bank Holiday Monday and throughout the Easter holidays across our Dojo, Gym & Studios.
Because the journey doesnât stop.
It continues⌠step by step, session by session.
Show up.
Stay consistent.
Be grateful for the ability to move, to learn, to grow.
The journey itself is the reward.
Grateful for our whole Spirit Family this Easter đŁ

Our daughter Cecee is lacing up for her first ever marathon on Sunday 12 April, taking on the iconic Brighton Marathon alongside her uncle George. Theyâll be weaving through the city, the seafront and all that Brighton colour, carrying a cause close to their hearts.
Cecee is running for Alzheimerâs Society, a charity sheâs chosen because of the vital support they give to families who need it most. Sheâs poured months of training, grit and teen-level determination into this moment, and every donation â big or small â lifts her stride.
If you can, please support her journey and this incredible charity.
đ§Ąđââď¸â¨ 26.2 miles, one huge heart.

Thereâs something weâve been noticing more and more lately, and if Iâm honest, it doesnât sit right with us.
People are not prioritising themselves.
Not properly, anyway. Physical health gets pushed down the list, mental wellbeing gets brushed aside, and self care becomes something we talk about but donât actually do. It turns into a âwhen I get timeâ conversation⌠and that time never really comes.
Whatâs strange is, we donât treat other things in our life like that.
Weâll spend money on a car without hesitation. Weâll service it, repair it, look after it the moment something feels off. Because we know if we donât, it breaks down. Simple.
But when it comes to our own body, our own mind⌠we push through, we ignore it, we carry on running on empty.
And even harder to say, sometimes we do the same when it comes to our children. We hesitate on investing in their development, their confidence, their environment⌠yet weâll invest in so many other things around them.
Itâs not a criticism, itâs just something that needs saying.
Because the truth is, self care isnât a luxury. Itâs not something you earn after everything else is done. Itâs part of the foundation. Itâs what allows you to actually show up properly in your life.
As a parent, as a coach, as a teacher, as someone others look up to⌠whether you realise it or not, youâre setting the tone. People follow what they see, not what theyâre told.
If we donât take care of ourselves, physically and mentally, what example does that set?
This isnât about guilt or pressure. Itâs just a bit of honesty. Movement matters. Training matters. Having something that keeps you sharp, focused and balanced matters more than most people realise.
And it doesnât need to be extreme. It doesnât need to be all or nothing. But it does need to be something.
Because when you start taking care of yourself properly, everything else benefits from it. Your energy, your mindset, your patience, your ability to deal with life when it gets tough.
And life will get tough at times. Thatâs a given.
So maybe the question isnât âdo I have time for this?â
Maybe itâs⌠can I really afford not to?

A little quieter on the comms lately⌠mainly because weâve been focused on doing more and saying less.
But spring is in the air, thereâs a fresh hum of energy around Spirit Centre, and there is plenty going on across our Dojo, Gym and Studios. From new wellness classes, workshops and class pack deals, to Easter camps, holiday activities and the continued journey of our martial arts students, this is a brilliant time to get involved.
This season is about more than just belts, certificates or results. Itâs about hard work paying off, standing tall, stepping forward under pressure, and growing in confidence and character.
From grass roots class tournaments to elite international competition season, it all begins somewhere. Thatâs why we value every first step, every effort, and every moment of progress.
Weâre also loving seeing more parents show interest in starting their own journey too. It is never too late to begin.
Over Easter weâve got plenty happening, so whether you want movement, martial arts, wellness, strength or simply a fresh start, the door is open.
Bring a friend and come and see what Spirit Centre is all about.

Flying high into 2026 â¨âŠď¸đď¸đ§ââď¸
Chief Instructor and daughter Poppy flying out to an international event âď¸
But metaphorically?
Weâve been flying all year.
When we pause for a second and look back at just these opening months of 2026, itâs powerful whatâs already unfolded inside our Spirit Centre walls and outside in the arenas and communities we serve.
WeâveâŚ
âŠď¸ Recommitted to fundamentals in our Dojo, Breath. Balance. Bite. Back to basics with intent.
đď¸ Brought back Warrior Games testing jumping, slamming, bracing, recording, improving. Competing with ourselves first.
đ§ââď¸ Used every inch of our Wave Studio, breath work, mindfulness, calm in the middle of noise and ignited our Flame Room.
đ Welcomed many beginners and new members through our doors⌠some found just turning up a challenge, but they did it.
đ Supported fighters stepping onto grassroots and international stages.
đŻ Delivered kids camps packed with energy, obstacle courses, Nerf wars and focused sessions.
đ Refined systems. Improved structure. Raised standards quietly.
đŹ Had honest conversations about mindset, excuses, discipline and growth.
đ¤ Built community, not just classes. Real community.
And thatâs just the visible stuff.
What you donât see is the early mornings. The late nights. The planning. The cleaning. The mentoring. The small conversations that shift direction for someone. The moments where confidence quietly clicks into place.
We donât chase noise.
We build in silence.
This photo is one moment, a plane window and a thumbs up.
But the real journey is happening daily inside Spirit Centre.
One path. Many journeys.
Movement for every body.
2026, weâre airborne.

Happy 17th Birthday to Daisy Cashman đâ¨
Many of our members will know Daisy from teaching classes in our Dojo or may have seen her putting the work in upstairs in The Gym or sweating it out in our Studios.
Daisy has grown up around the mats and within our Spirit family, and itâs been great to see her continue to develop her own path through martial arts, coaching and training.
Wishing you a fantastic birthday Daisy, keep focused, keep smiling and keep being you.

â¨âŠď¸đď¸đ§ââď¸ Spirit Centre Update
Weâve had some sunshine âď¸ and you can feel what that does to people. Lighter steps coming up the stairs. More smiling faces walking through the doors and as always, even more walking out after class.
Rain or shine, busy or calm, our Spirit Centre keeps moving forward. Together.
đ FIGHT WEEKEND
Total Kombat goes live tomorrow on ITVX, 7pm.
Our Elite student Tai Gordon steps under the lights against a hometown opponent.
The work has been done.
We donât chase noise.
We build in silence.
Win or learn, stepping forward takes courage and weâre proud of him.
âŠď¸ Our Dojo
This weekâs theme: Spirit.
Not loud spirit. The quiet one.
The one that turns up when itâs hard.
Stripes havenât been handed out this week.
Not because progress isnât happening.
But because ânot yetâ is powerful.
Being ready is a myth.
Readiness is built through doing.
Discipline matters.
The constructive journey matters.
And yes the fun matters too.
đ§ââď¸ The Studios
A beautiful Yin workshop left everyone floating this week.
Starting next week:
đĽ Heated Foundation
đĽ Ladies-Only Heated Yoga
đ¤ Pre & Post Natal classes returning
Movement for every body.
Small consistent choices stacking into something strong.
⨠And to all our members in our Dojo, The Gym and The Studios, thank you.
For showing up.
For trusting us.
For building this community with us.
One path.
Many journeys.

Being ready is a myth.
You start.
You feel awkward.
You realise youâre not as fit / flexible / confident as you thought.
Then the excuses come in.
âIâll start next month.â
âI just need to get a bit fitter first.â
âItâs not the right time.â
Be honest.
Youâre nervous.
Youâre scared.
You donât want to look silly.
Youâre worried you wonât be good enough.
Thatâs human.
And itâs okay.
But donât let honesty turn into excuses.
You donât wait for a child to get smart before you take them to school.
They go to school to get smart.
Growth only happens in the doing.
This month alone weâve welcomed very nervous new members into all our spaces, our Dojo, our Gym, our Studios.
Adults. Parents. Young people. Some walked in quietly. Some overthought it for weeks. Some almost turned around at the door.
And every single one of them is already glad they started.
Our Dojo builds discipline by training discipline.
Our Gym builds strength by lifting.
Our Studio builds balance by practising balance.
Confidence isnât something you arrive with.
Itâs something you build.
One path. Many journeys.
Movement for every body.
Be honest with yourself.
If youâre waiting to feel âreadyâ⌠you might be waiting forever.
Start anyway.
Weâll meet you there. đđť
