We’re feeling rather humbled, especially knowing how amazing the other nominees were, to have won the ‘Club of the Year’ award last night. Thanks to for a great night. Off for a wee lie down before getting fired up for our next block of coaching sessions.

Big day on some big mountains for a few of our Youth riders. After a gentle ride out from Linn O’ Dee, the track gets pretty rough, pretty quickly. Loads of pushing, carrying, but an impressive amount ridden all the way to the top of Ben Macdui in the very heart of the . Some great riding all the way back to Derry Lodge and back out.

Aboyne Enduro run by Doon Tha Brae Events proved to be as challenging as ever. Super-dry conditions led to a few mechanicals and crashes. DTCC youths still provided a strong representation despite a conflicting SDA weekend. Oli Johnston came 2nd in the full course 13-17 category, Charlie Brunton came 3rd and Kieran Villis 4th in the Lite course 9-12 category.

On the opposite side of the country, once the crazy winds from Friday and Saturday (cancelling practice) had died down, a reschduled single-day event for the Scottish Downhill Association (SDA) Round 3 at Glencoe Mountain Resort squeezed a lot of action into a short period. With limited time to practice on a track that many had never raced/ridden on before, it was proving tricky to dial things in quickly. A few 'bumps' forced a few to not make it race time, however once we got there, our club riders did pretty well, with several riding their first full DH race, so gaining loads of experience. The highlight was seeing Eve grab 3rd place in Youth Female on her very first visit to Glencoe.

With a short break (much needed for all), we'll be back in August. First up is the next SDA on the 'other' track at Glencoe.

Scottish Cycling | Deeside Thistle MTB | Deeside Thistle Cycling Club

Track is now all taped up and ready to roll tomorrow. There’s been a fair bit of rain today, so some slippy spots, but that’ll make it more fun. Please remember that we all need to get in, so follow directions from our friendly parking volunteers, get signed on, race plates and chips on, pull on that full face helmet and get riding!
It’s going to be awesome!

It’s getting really close to our Mini DH race on the eponymous trail at Glenlivet. The race manual has now been sent out to everyone who has signed up to our sold out race this Sunday, and is also available via our bio here. We can’t wait! Can you?

More pump track racing is coming to Alford very soon!
After the success of our last race in May, we were keen to get at least one more on before the summer holidays. The event is now live for entries via the link in our bio, on Thursday 19th June in Haughton Park.
