This Sunday we host Sheffield Uni Staff CC on the Sheldon Field. Slightly earlier start of 1pm. Unfortunately the Plough is temporarily shut but our bar is open all day 🍺🍺 😉😉

Good evening all

Today Cropwell played host to Upton on the Sheldon field today a team we played for many years now and they are a great bunch and we always have a great game against them. Both captains walked out to the middle for the Toss. Sam Brown was captain for the day and looked as mean as always ready to take the fight to Upton he was spitting blood and he looked the part of a warrior from years gone by or a caveman with a club ready for the kill.

Upton went into bat on a un-covered wicket which was a bad chose for them because they were 3 down for 12 runs. Gareth Guy was top bowler taking 3 wickets 4 maidens for 1 run in 5 overs. It was a great bowling display and every bowler got a wicket today.
In the end Cropwell bowled Upton out for 85 in the 23rd over.

It was in for tea and Cropwell went out to bat. Seth Carroll and Ethan Wright would try and make quick work. It was down to Harry Britton to take Cropwell over the winning line and Max Lockwood was not out for the second week running.

Cropwell ended it all in the 18th over and it was 14 wins to them this season.

Good evening, All

Cropwell played Kinoulton Cricket-Club on the Sheldon Field today, it was a warm day and the weather was set fine.

Captain for the day was Harry Woodward. He went out to the middle for the toss and was looking like a top man, ready for a good game.

Cropwell went out to bat with James Spencer and Sam Pudding Hinton. They scored a quick fire 74 partnership, with Sam scoring 26 and James went on to retire at 50. Cropwell put on a score of 172, with other notable scores from Max Lockwood, Joe Litchfield and Seth Carroll, and that was going to take some getting.

Cropwell went out to bowl with Gareth Guy and Joe Shinn opening up the bowling. They went for only 34 in their opening 12 overs. Setting the standard for the rest of the bowling.

There seemed to be a new style of bowling today, which we found out was 'hazball'!!! Joe Litchfield being the top bowler, taking 3 wickets for 2 runs.

We managed to bowl them out for 102 and it was yet another win for Cropwell Cricket Club

Well done Cropwell and James Spencer wins man of the match for a great innings.

Great afternoon playing Kinoulton, they just came up against some great bowling.
