Some days are just more special than others especially over the last few weeks! Today we got our Glamis Furnations medals from CaniX UK (official) Cani-Cross UK or CaniCross UK and Dawn C-r who put an extra in! Thank you Dawn for this we now have one each from the day. Sadly it was only the Saturday we managed as I'd had surgery only a few weeks before and don't know if I'd even manage that. But true to form my wee hero looked after me all the way round and we could complete our last grace as a wee team at our favourite place with our favourite people. Thank you Dawn and team Cani X xx Bailey & Hazel ❤️🐾🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Hi everyone 👋🏻 an update on our CEO Bailey.
He’s been very unwell this week and we thought we would need to make a difficult decision over the weekend or start of the week as he had stopped eating and drinking. HOWEVER!!! Last night after visiting the genius Calum at Apex Vets and having a plan to insert a feeding tube under anaesthesia this morning Bailey had other ideas! He began eating last night after Calum administered his antibiotic and gave us some food to try. Thank fully he ate it and again and again. 🫶🏻 Soooooo he is at home eating and drinking small portions often without need of a feeding tube!!!! We have also had a consultation with the amazing Holly at Sport Dog Nutrition who has made a plan of Baileys eating and given us some amazing advice for moving forward keeping him healthy but regaining all the weight he’s lost. We would also like to say a MASSIVE THANKS TO Ann Watt Wendy Rankine, Lisa and Steven Stirling Dog Behavioural Centre for their advice, support and kindness over the few weeks. Rosie and I are forever grateful. We may be just a couple of regular dog owners but the team we have behind us is a TEAM OF HEROS! Thank you guys and will keep you updated on his progress. Luv Hazel, Rosie, Dottie and the main man Bailey x

Hi everyone 👋🏻 Sorry we have been a little quiet on the social media front with you all. I’ve been recovering from knee surgery and going back to trail running sooner than I should! More on a serious note our CEO Mr Bailey has been very unwell. Bailey has a history of pancreatitis but this week he’s particularly bad and has given up eating. He’s been to the vet and had an emergency stay last night but thankfully home today. He sees the vet again on Tuesday for a plan as it doesn’t look like pancreatitis this time. Send your favourite big guy healing hugs and we will keep you all posted on how the boss does over the next couple of days. Luv n hugs Hazel n Bailey x

Hey guys I wanted to share something with you! I’ve been building a “bank” of good technique running pictures. It’s nearly always shown in pictures of “professional” athletes HOWEVER! I have found one of a canicrosser who also likes to run. Below you will see a picture of Abi. She is sprinting to the finish line and shows excellent elbow hinge/flex with the power driving forward from the shoulder. This is most often seen in sprinting athletes (red line). Next have a look at the triple extension of the ankle/knee and hip (yellow line). This shows explosive dynamic power through the back leg to drive the body forward from the ground. This is important as this movement shows maximum efficiency of the drive. Next have a look at the posture of the body (pink line). The head is up with the shoulders and hips completely underneath each other. This encourages maximum capacity for the body to drive from the hip/legs (often refers to as the helium ballon pull keeping you up tall). Lastly look at the front foot (orange line) the foot is ever so slightly dropped at the toes and that foot will hit the ground underneath the hips and shoulders using efficiency and no over striding which reduces the heel strike which causes a braking force and can often cause the likelihood of injury. Abi will most likely land mid foot and be right of through the power of that drive. Moral of the story??? It’s important to get the right running for maximum efficiency which will reduce your effort and reduce wasted energy. Awesome Abi 👏🏻🫶🏻🚀 I will be offering coaching in running with classes and 1-2-1s as well as a new block of foundation Canicross classes around Sept/oct x
