Never take being ABLE for granted. ❤️
Today I did MacTUFF with my daughter Amy, with my family and wee grandson Kylo cheering us on, and I had one of those moments where I thought… how lucky am I?
I turn 53 this week and yes, I pick up the ‘occasional’ injury, and some days my body definitely reminds me I’m not 23 anymore!
But it still lets me run, lift, compete, challenge myself and make memories like these with the people I love.
Getting older is a privilege. Being healthy is a privilege. Being ABLE is a privilege.
I know there are so many people who would give anything to be able to do the things we sometimes complain about doing — and I never want to lose sight of that. ❤️
And a special thank you to my daughter Amy 💜 — my teammate today, who encouraged me, pushed me and got me through the tough bits ❤️ I couldn’t have asked for a better person to do it with!
Times, placings and medals are great, but doing this with my daughter while my family and grandson cheered us on?
THAT was the real win. 🫶
53, menopausal, occasionally injured 😂… but still showing up and very, very grateful.
Never take being able for granted. ❤️
