Cupar Golf Club

Leslie Golf Club.
I went along to Leslie Golf Club this morning. LGC are a fellow 9 hole golf club run by hard working volunteers. They have faced considerable challenges recently and have worked hard to keep their course going. They have changed their course (originally a Tom Morris course) to a 6 hole Par 3 course for now. They are also developing a 3 hole practice area, both of which will be bookable. Very much early in their journey and the course is still rough but it’s an enjoyable pitch and putt course. For golfers with a handicap you’ll only need a pitching wedge, maybe 9 iron and a putter. There are no bunkers. Today’s deal was a round plus a hot roll and drink for only £6! This is great value. This would be a great place to take your kids for a turn up and play round, or get a bit of practice in rather than the driving range.
I got a very warm welcome from Susan at the clubhouse and Dave who was cutting the greens/tees.
Thoroughly enjoyed it….I grew up beside a pitch and putt course in Dundee. It would be great if the local golfing community could pop along for a game and help them out.
For the competitive amongst us….I took 19 shots.

What a great day at Cupar Golf Club yesterday with 15 pairs taking part in the annual Grant Cup!

The 9-hole junior and adult alternate shot is a fixture that’s become a real tradition in the junior calendar — and long may it continue!
