π¦ Crows Corner of Awesomeness π¦
This week saw a fun and enjoyable week of training. Where an dynamic speed session, on Tuesday evening and the tremendous trig session, on Thursday, were hosted by two of our coaches.
Though the commitment, fun and enjoyment did not stop there!
π Murder Mile π½
A lovely run that's put on by Islwyn Running Club , saw Mark F, Martyn J, Andy B and Leon G take on the very step and demanding mile.
The trek up the Islwyn mountain, to the finish, is the steepest race locally but is enjoyed by a wide range of runner.
Da Iawn Pob!
πββοΈ Wimbleball Half Ironman Triathlon π΅ββοΈ
The half Iron-man Triathlon was attended by our very own Julie R and Sue W, enduring the very demanding stages of this race.
While the conditions were warm but demanding, this race showed how brave, determined and composed our both competitor are.
Dai Iawn Carids!
𦡠WyeDean Relays organised by Rogueruns πββοΈ
This race saw a mixture of testing conditions of heat, rain and of the slippy conditions to test each runner of Fairwater.
𦡠Leg 1 π¦
Saw Peter J and Martyn J take on Leg 1. Which was that of 8.2K distance that went from Ross-On-Wye to Kerne Bridge.
This leg had a 320ft ascent, which was enjoyed by both runners.
π½ Leg 2 π¦΅
Saw both Leonie and Mark P take on the 10.5K Leg, which went from Kerne Bridge to Symonds Yat. With a 301ft ascent that was included.
𦡠Leg 3π¦΅
A 9.6Kms race, with 50ft elevation that was enjoyed by both Julie L and Sheree M. This Leg went from Symonds Yat to Monmouth.
𦡠Leg 4 π¦΅
Saw our experienced runner Stephen W and our new member Raymond F take on the 4.9Km Leg with a 210ft ascent from Monmouth to Redbrook.
𦡠Leg 5π¦΅
Leg 5 saw Helen B and Stewart S take on the 11k leg from Redbrook to Brockweir Bridge. That had a 15ft ascent but also the wet weather conditions came in to help battle against the heat.
𦡠Leg 6 π¦΅
Saw both Kyle and Stuart B taken on the 6.6k leg with a 230ft ascent from Brockweir Bridge to Wyndcliff Carpark.
The lads were so excited about this race, that they did it as a warm up and one of our competitors took a slip on this leg. While showing his consistency by finishing 14th out of 42 runners.
𦡠Leg 7π¦΅
The final saw our new member Ken and our experienced runner Alison take on this leg. Where the distance was of 5.8k with a 45ft ascent took both runners from Wyndcliff CP to Chepstow Band Stand.
Each of our fellow runners enjoyed each leg and run consistently well in the dynamic weather conditions that were found on the day.
A shout out to Martyn J, who saw every runner start and finish their leg and took the team photo of each leg.
A mention to Tosh K Simpkin whose photos are also included in this post.
Da Iawn Pob!
We, at Fairwater, would like to wish every runner, friends, family and fellow runners a healthy week ahead. Please remember to look out for each other, to stay hydrated and to stay safe with the nights that are drawing in.

Ken E took to London this week and enjoyed a 7k run. Ken's adventure took him from Abbey Road Studios though Primrose hill, Regents Park, Lords, past Paul McCartneys house then back to Abby Road.
A very musical theme that Ken took on and is duli-noted that it strung accord as he was on mighty fine form on Sunday.
β°οΈMynydd Maen Traverseπ½
This race, saw the distance of 6.1 mile run with a 291 metre climb, or 955 ft, was not for the faint hearted.
Both Andy B and Martyn J took on the challenge of this fell race.
To where Martyn J, proudly took home 1st place for his age category and is certainly well received.
This upcoming week is still looking to be warm with good conditions, though a reminder to always stay hydrated π°π§is vitally important.
