Cwmbran Celtic Football Academy

So, there you have it, the 3 FA Wales Academies removed by the FAW in South East Wales 2 or 3 seasons ago, Celtic, Risca United Football Club and Taffs Well,
have all seen their Senior sides relegated from the Cymru South League, after Cwmbran Celtics exit last night.

Very sad to see.

Is this just coincidence or great engineering from the FAW and the their lack of care for football in SE Wales

No disrespect to Merthyr who run an FAW Academy but play their senior football in the English League or to Newport City who play their youth teams in the JPL, but the thinking of the FAW surely is very questionable.

A Hugh amount of work over many years by many people, both administrators, coaches and not forgetting to 100s of players across the Academies was stripped away with little consultation, but great times were had by all involved.

U9’s followed up the Luton experience topping their group in the Swans 6’s tournament.

A loss in the final to Jack Army doesn’t take anything away from how much these players will have learnt this week. ❤️

Well done also to the new trialists who had their first taste of competitive tournament football. 👏👏👏

So many memorable individual and collective moments that players can share across their personal journeys with friends and family.

9’s qualifying from their group with Peterborough and Northampton, going out in the 1/4 final to Swindon Town.
