And that's a Wrap..Day 3 of the BM Championships were concluded this evening at Musselburgh Municipal bowling club & Eskmills Bowling Club. At 6pm it wasn't looking promising with torrential rain on the horizon but thankfully it held off.

ESKMILLS Under 25's

Starting with the games at Eskmills featuring our Under 25 stars it's a massive congratulations to Lucy Hogg who becomes the first lady winner of the Mcintosh Trophy. In a high quality match where the score didn't really do justice to Emma Docherty Lucy continued her rich vein of form to add to her Bronze & Gold medals in the Nationals. An international cap next?

Glancing through the previous winners of the Mcintosh it's like a who's who of Bowls in Midlothian with stalwarts such as Ronnie Duncan David Peacock Colin Mcfarlane Ramsay Blair being previous winners.

The first ever playing of the Under 25 Pairs was a well contested affair with the Gorebridge Bowling Club duo of Ross Bruce & Cameron Stokes coming out on top with a late scoring surge to be inaugural winners of this new competition.

Jacek Dalkeith Bowling Club steals the show with a hat trick of victories with 7 hours of bowling on Sunday. You are all winners in our eyes though and the support from Clubs, sponsors and great competition blew us all away.

Dalkeith teenager stars at biggest-ever Bowls Midlothian Finals Day - Midlothian View A 15-year-old Dalkeith bowler was the star of the show after winning three titles at Bowls Midlothian’s biggest-ever Finals Day.

Championship Finals Monday Evening Update...

Thanks to Musselburgh Municipal bowling club for their cooperation this evening to host 2 of the abandoned Finals from yesterday...

Congratulations go to Leigh Richardson Loanhead bowling Club who won a closely contested Champion of Champions match v Shona Johnstone Polton Bowling Club 21-20 completing the Double after winning the Ladies Singles yesterday.

And in the Ladies Rinks Dalkeith Bowling Club came out on top 20-10 v Gorebridge Bowling Club .

As mentioned earlier another 4 Finals finish @ Musselburgh tomorrow and Under 25's Singles & Pairs commence Eskmills Bowling Club .

CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS UPDATED ARRANGEMENTS 🏆

Following the unfortunate abandonment of a number of our Championship Finals due to the weather, arrangements have now been made for these matches to be resumed and completed.

Under the World Bowls Laws of the Sport – Crystal Mark Fourth Edition, Law 33 (Game Stoppages):

Law 33.1 states that where a game is stopped because of darkness, weather conditions or another valid reason, “the game must be continued either on the same day or on a different day. The scores will be as they were when the game was stopped.”

Therefore, all of our Finals which were abandoned due to the weather will resume from the score at the point the game was stopped, in accordance with the World Bowls Laws.

A brilliant day down at Musselburgh Municipal bowling club , showcasing some fantastic talent on the greens! 👏

We received lots of positive feedback on the facilities, bar and food trucks – thank you to everyone who helped make the day a success.

Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other ideas 🌧️ and the final session was rained off. The outstanding games will be rearranged with those involved, and we’ll update everyone ASAP with the new dates and times so you can come along and support.

Thanks to all our players, officials, volunteers and supporters for a fantastic Finals Day!
