I vowed that change was coming and that CAMRA would be there at the forefront of the fight to save our pubs and breweries...

I couldn't be more pleased to see CAMRA's new hard hitting report about the state of the UK Beer market. As a member of the National Executive, I am proud to be part of this. This is what CAMRA is all about. In our opinion, the reputation of UK brewing has been trashed by big business. It is unsupported by Government. And if nothing changes, this could be terminal.

We need an investigation by the Competition and Market Authority to get drinkers a fair deal. And to stop the big four dominating our choices.

The report sets out what Andy Burnham - probably our next Prime Minister - said about ‘people need to be able to look forward to a night out’. This shows exactly what he needs to do to make this a reality.

We know we are being lied to about British beer, you know we are being lied to. Independent breweries are being squeezed out of the market. Seven of the top ten selling ‘craft beers’ in the UK are made by just four global brewing conglomerates.
