🧠 Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

What is it?

It is a neuro developmental condition characterised by challenges in executive functioning like planning, focus and emotional regulation… making it difficult to plan physical activity, stay focused on goals or even feel feel like doing anything.

Individuals with ADHD typically have lower baseline levels of dopamine and physical activity actually floods the brain with dopamine!

The spike of dopamine increase alertness for several hours following a workout - which is why morning training sessions are ideal to increase productivity for the rest of the day 🙌🏻

This is just one of the benefits of exercise for individuals with ADHD - there are many, many more.

As someone who is passionate about supporting the neurodivergent community I am a perfect choice as your personal trainer 🫶

People with fibromyalgia suffer with chronic pain, chronic fatigue and sleep issues and the condition affects their ability to exercise.

Working with clients with fibromyalgia is about helping them to increase muscle strength, often needed due to periods of inactivity.

Resistance training strengthens muscles and joints and so it’s always included in their exercise plan. The load may be lighter and reps higher. It’s not good to push these clients too hard as it can aggravate symptoms. If you do this, you can demotivate the client.

Whether a client has fibromyalgia or not, progress is not always linear. Plateaus, setbacks and fluctuations are normal.

Everybody can sustain a fitness routine that suits their lifestyle and needs whatever that may look like.

Hi 👋

Had a few new followers recently so thought I would do a post.

I’m Hayley and I am a level 3 qualified personal trainer. This is my partner Brad who is one of my biggest supporters and also a cheerleader for all of the clients.

I operate 121 sessions from a private studio based in Darlington.

You can have regular, weekly sessions with me or bi weekly depending on your preference and availability.

I program exercises specific to your goals and needs. Some people might want to work towards weight loss, some recover from injuries and some train for mental health reasons.

I provide a supportive, holistic approach to training that has a focus on health, longevity and lifestyle change.

This week… I did not manage to get pictures with all of my clients as sometimes I forget. But here are some clients from today and yesterday working on themselves to be fitter, stronger, injury and pain free.
