First lesson after a grading is absolutely the right time to get the mitts out and do some sparring training.
Good work across the board tonight. Well deserved Students of the Day and, once again, it was my absolute pleasure to hand out grading certificates to those that passed their grading at the weekend.

And many thanks to Penny and the rest of the cadet leaders for helping out - it is really appreciated.

Lots of effort across all classes this evening - and rightly so this close to a grading. After working on kicks, the Little Tigers worked on some on-the-spot punches, both in line and against focus mitts. Tigers ended their lesson playing around with ippon kumite and the seniors the same.
Many thanks to Penny and Jayden for helping out this evening - very much appreciated.

Great classes tonight with two news starters!
Little Tigers working on finishing touches to kata and 5-step ahead of the grading while our new Little Tiger worked hard on learning to kick and punch with Penny. Finished the LT session with pad work.
Tigers also working on polishing techniques and kata. I've seen some great improvements in all of the Tigers over the last three months and am really impressed with their attitude and their effort - let's keep that going!
A new starter in the seniors session which gave us an opportunity to really focus on our basics. We then split into groups with Alan looking after our new starter and the rest going through kata with me.

The Tigers and seniors sessions were surprisingly quiet evening, but that gave me a chance to look to see where we are with kata and kihon. Very impressed with the effort the Tigers were putting in and also that they taking on board the feedback provided.
Little Tigers split into two groups with me teaching the red belts, cadet Leader Penny taking the white belts through 5-step and Jayden helping with a new starter.
Quiet evening, but we got through a lot :-)

Well that was busier than I anticipated!
First two classes focussed mainly on see what we need to focus on ahead of the grading. Some good effort from everyone and some excellent etiquette from out Little Tigers!
Once we got past the kihon, the juniors spent some time on mawashi geris: improvements made throughout - and one or two outstanding kickers :-)
Seniors started with a review of the basics of single techniques and then moved onto kata. Again, goods work from all.
Looking forward to next week!

All classed focussed on kihon (basics) and kata (with a little gohan kumite for the white belts). There have been some clear improvements in techniques and form in the past few weeks - keep it up!

Next week we are back to our normal class times:
Little Tigers: 5:30 - 6:15 pm
Tigers: 6:15 - 7:15
Seniors: 7:15 - 8:30

Some really good work from both our students and our cadet leaders tonight. Little Tigers worked on yoko geris and kihon kata while the Tigers worked on back stances and their grading katas. We had a short session of yoko geri kikomis against a strike shield - some strong kicks!
Seniors session was kihon, kata, more kihon and more kata :-)
