🔵⚪️ BILLINGHAM 2-12 JUNIORS ⚪️🔵

Sponsored by Buckley Specialist Recruitment

Excellent game today for the boys in blue, started off with scoring within 10 seconds of the first half.

Although we had a fast start the first it was Billingham who were the better team for the first 10/15 minutes who could’ve scored a couple of goals but only managed the one to equalise.

Mid way through the first half the boys knocked it up a couple of gears and took control with Noah scoring the best 4 goals you’ll see.

Second half was the same, we started a bit slowly but once we got going we were flying again, the football at times was really good. Some fantastic goals scored once again.

We were starting to question whether Aiden was going to score any as he hadn’t till this point however, he scored a quick fire brace.

Great performance overall and a great scoreline for the boys and their pursuit of challenging for the league.

🏆 Man of the Match

Really picks itself today although it could’ve been anyone, however, after scoring a massive 5 goals. Unbelievable performance from the captain of Ethos FC (Which if you have seen, go check it out for some great material).

Cold, rainy one today and it showed. First half I think we started fairly sluggish and sloppy with Eaglescliffe being the better team creating chances. Thankfully the boys managed to scavenge some chances of their own and bury them from a few great counter attacks. However the first half didn’t really pick up and excite anyone it was Eaglescliffe who had played the better football. Eaglescliffe managed to pull one back to make it 3-1 after the ref gives what I believe a soft pen however it’s probably what they deserved.

2nd half we picked it up a little bit but it seemed the same way as the first, we managed to take our chances whereas Eaglescliffe couldn’t. We extended the lead by another 3 to finish the game 6-1 winners.

To end on a positive note, they did battle well at times and did score some great counter attacking goals. I’d rather a win than not so that’s the biggest thing to come from today another big result for the boys.

Man of the match - Aiden, caused havoc all game for the opposition too strong and powerful at times, he got himself a couple of assists and a hattrick. Great performance all round.

Other mentions for MOTM - Ralphy, was unbelievable all game, I’d say probably his best performance for us. Also Mason was another shout, our new goalkeeper who was great in his first game, very commanding and sharp on his feet!

🔵⚪️ JUNIORS 6-2 KADER ⚪️🔵

Team sponsored by Buckley Specialist Recruitment

Tough game this morning against a good team who had just won their first 2 games of the season. With a week’s break the boys were ready to rock and roll.

For the beginning of the first half I’d say Kader was the better team as the lads were a little bit rusty. However all it took was a little mistake from Kader for Aiden to run on the back of it and open the scoring. The first half continued the same fairly scrappy, but enough for the boys to have attack after attack. After a flurry of shots it was actually Kader who pinched one back.

Second half the boys upped the tempo and played better football at times and it showed on the pitch as we gradually opened the scoreline by a good margin.

Overall, it was a good performance all round against a team which could’ve been a banana skin. Credit to Kader they’re a good team will have a good season.

Man of the match - (C) Ollie, I think today was one of his better performances for a while really dictated the midfield at times, made some fantastic passes and ran the show. Even finished his day with a goal of his own which he has to work hard for.

Another shout was Leighton, Rolls Royce performance against a player who was the same height as me. Had a really good game and was also in the shout for MOTM.

🔵⚪️ AYCLIFFE 2-8 JUNIORS ⚪️🔵

Sponsored by Buckley Specialist Recruitment

First game of the season and it was a cold, wet one! It probably showed for the first 10/15 minutes as Aycliffe started the quicker of the two teams. We were a little bit sloppy and slow coming out of the blocks, but once we got that first goal we seemed to settle down and started to take control of the game.

I thought the first half was fairly scrappy overall, but there were some really good bits of football in there and thankfully a few of those moments ended with the ball in the back of the net. Once we got going the goals started to come and the lads raced into a 6-0 lead before half time.

The rain came down even heavier in the second half and the game got a bit sloppier with it. We gave away a silly penalty which Aycliffe put away to make it 6-1, then a mix up at the back gifted them another goal which we definitely could have avoided.

The lads didn’t let it bother them though and finished the game strongly, adding another two goals late on to make it 8-2 and get our first three points of the season on the board.

Got to give Aycliffe’s keeper some credit as well. He made a few really good saves throughout the game and stopped the scoreline from getting any bigger.

Opposition Man of the Match went to Aiden. Another great game from him, a constant handful and used his strength brilliantly all game. He also got himself on the scoresheet to get off the mark for the season. Well done Aiden 👏🏼

Plenty we can improve on and definitely a bit of rust still there, but you can’t complain about starting the season with eight goals and three points.

Good to get the first one done and dusted. Onto the next one!

TEESSIDE JUNIORS COACHES’ PLAYER OF THE SEASON

“Coaches player of the year - This award is similar to the last, picked by us coaches for a player who tactically we think has changed a lot for us this season, he’s had a couple of position changes and we’ve worked out he’s a jack of all trades. When he’s playing he brings a different dynamic, different kind of tempo to every game, he barely scored normal goals before, now he’s scoring hat tricks…. Coaches player of the season is Seth”

TEESSIDE JUNIORS PLAYER OF THE SEASON

“Player of the season - I think this award summarises the whole season, it’s for the player who’s been the most consistent, had the most impact on the majority of games and just been a top player all round. There’s no surprises with this one, it’s very much deserved… again Noah Saxton”
