Darlington Cricket Club

The 2026 season was a building block to be proud of for our Ladies section.

21 games of competitive cricket in total, a third place finish in the softball league and over 20 ladies having a go at competitive hardball… a great effort!

1382 runs scored
59 wickets taken

There were some stand-out performances to note this year. Captain, Sophie Craggs, with an impressive 643 runs across all comps, 329 in the hardball hundred (ensuring a 2nd place on the top scorer list). This was comprised of 3 50’s, a 95* and a notable 101* off 44. A season average of 82.83. Brilliant work

Partnerships wise we saw 3 60+ partnerships in the Hundred format, with Craggs pairing with Ruth Chapman, Jen Knowles and Katie de la Motte for our three most impressive knocks.

Now on to the bowling, 15 wickets for Craggs and an impressive showing from our youngsters here, with Alicia Bonham taking 10 wickets and Maggie R***r 8. Some impressive numbers when it comes to bowling economy, with mother daughter duo Maggie R***r and Sarah MacDermott doing us proud and Alicia Bonham with a memorable 4/17 away at Hartlepool (the most impressive part of that days cricket!)

The best bit when compiling all these stats was seeing the number of names and appearances across our ladies and girls section this season. 32! A mega number for our first “proper” season and something to be very proud of.

Thank you to each and everyone of our supporters, the regulars on the boundary week in week out, the volunteer coaches who’ve helped us on and off field and the wider DCC community for backing us. We really appreciate it. Here’s to 2027!

We were absolutely blown away by this beautiful review from Rachael about her recent engagement party. While I had the good fortune to be there on the night, our amazing team all ensure we try to delight our lovely clients.

From our incredibly hard-working kitchen staff to the fantastic event crew, everyone works together to make sure every detail, dietary need, and little extra is perfect. We also want to send a massive thank you to the amazing bar team Darlington Cricket Club for keeping the drinks flowing and adding to such a wonderful night!

Congratulations again to the happy couple! Thank you for letting the entire Keel and Green team be part of your special celebration.

It is with great regret that the Club have to announce the passing of Jonny Howells after a brave battle with illness. Jonny was a much loved son to Brian and Gloria.

Our thoughts are with Brian, Gloria and all their family at this saddest of times. The family would appreciate it if everyone could respect their privacy whilst they try to come to terms with their loss.
