We're bringing history and kettlebell sport together 💪

On November 8th, fresh from a hugely successful World Championships, the TU NOVA team will take on a new challenge.

To bring together Kettlebell Sport and the 200-year Stockton & Darlington Railway anniversary.

The team will be taking on several events that have significant meaning to the anniversary.

Lifting 6.6 tonnes non-stop (weight of LOCOMOTION 1) 🚂

Doing 200 reps to celebrate 200 years 🎊

And many more events 💪

This is to 1: celebrate the anniversary and 2: say thank you to the people of Darlington who have supported the club over the past 13 years

My little sister’s 40th birthday 🎉


What a weekend! ❤️

We laughed, we danced, we talked, we walked, we ate, we drank and made more sweet memories!

I am very blessed to have such an amazing family. There were a few faces missing - it’s getting harder and harder to get absolutely all of us together. Maybe one day! ❤️🤞🏽

3 gold medals at the World Championships 🥇🥇🥇and still not bloody happy! 🤦🏽‍♀️😂

Well I am, but I’m not.

🥇243 reps in Military Sn**ch (multiple hand changes) on Sunday with some really tough competition from the Polish women. I felt I really earned that one - it was so close all the way through - I didn’t realise just how close. I wasn’t sure if I’d got it until my team mates confirmed I had 😂

🥇137 reps in Sn**ch on Friday (just one had change) was way off a PB. But it was better than the other 3 women in my category so I got gold. Still lots of mindset work to do on this as my mind literally turns into a noisy whir of gobbledygook the moment I start lifting 🤦🏽‍♀️

🥇Gold in the veterans mixed relay. We were in a category on our own but we still put on a good competitive race against the Taiwanese powerhouses and the England youth team. Relays are always fun to take part in and to watch. This was the last lift of the competition and we’re were all pretty tired!

So, as always there’s much work to be done. I am proud of my performance but even more so - I’m proud to be part of Team England and Team Tu Nova. They really are like my second family. Thank you and for the amazing coaching and support.

The international kettlebell community is so supportive and we met some amazing athletes from around the world. It’s part of what makes these competitions so memorable.

Now for the start of new training cycle for the next competition in Moldova in December.

😘 K.I.S.S. — Keep it Super Simple

Here are my simple strategies to help you feel better during menopause (in no particular order!):

✅ Walk outside every day
✅ Lift heavy weights 2–3 times a week
✅ Go to bed early
✅ Curate your social media and stop ‘doom-scrolling’
✅ Find 5 minutes for fun + laughter
✅ Eat plenty of protein and veg
✅ Always eat chocolate 🍫😂
✅ Control the controllables (and don’t stress about the rest)
✅ Go easy on alcohol – it’s a bu**er for night sweats + rubbish sleep!

Women in the menopause transition (and beyond) can get strong, build muscle and increase fitness by:

* Strength training 2-3 x a week
* 150 mins of moderate intensity cardio a week (walking, dancing, cycling, rowing etc.)
* Eating enough protein (for your body)
* Eating a nutrient-dense diet (including carbs!)
* Prioritising quality sleep
* Practising recovery strategies

Menopause is the end of strength - it’s the start of it!

When you focus on building foundational habits - doing the small stuff well, every day - it really is possible to get stronger, fitter and more resilient than you ever thought possible!

Yes, you might need to do things differently as your body and life changes. But that doesn’t mean you can’t make positive, lasting changes by focusing on the simple stuff:

💪🏽 Lift strong
🚶‍♀️Move well
🧘‍♀️Recover and restore
🥗 Food that works

If you’ve had some time out, lost your motivation or just simply been putting yourself at the bottom of the pile. Now is the time to start focusing on yourself. To start taking back control.

I know it can be bloody hard and sometimes it just feels too overwhelming. But if you’ve done it before, you can do it again!

It’s not about being perfect - it’s about starting again.
