Darlington Woodland Bowling Club A friendly, fully-licensed Bowling Club located in Hollyhurst Road opposite the entrance to the Memorial Hospital Interested? then why not pay us a visit.

We offer the opportunity to play competitive bowls matches and friendly games; or to simply enjoy socialising. Membership, both full (playing) and social (non-playing), is open to males and females of all ages. Our bowling green is open from April until September and during this period, we enjoy a busy schedule of league and social games. Between October and March, a variety of social activities (for example, carpet bowls, dominos, quizzes, dinners, musical entertainment ) are arranged for our members’ enjoyment. From October to March, the club is open almost every Thursday night enabling our members to socialise, play a friendly game of carpet bowls and enjoy a drink or two. Pop in and say hello. During the outdoor bowling season, the club is open almost every day for social bowling; league matches are played mainly on Tuesday afternoons and Thursday evenings.

Many thanks to our new Treasurer, Brian Franklin, for arranging the re-covering of the bench seat. The old one lasted well for 30 years. It is certainly more comfortable as you can see from the happy faces.

It is with great sadness that we have been informed of the passing of Barry Hodgson, who was a Life member of the club. He was a significant contributor to both Indoor and Outdoor bowls. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this sad time.
