Blackburn Centurions Welcome to the official page for Blackburn Centurions Swimming Club. The coaching team is led by our experienced Head Coach Darren.

Blackburn Centurions is based in the borough of Blackburn with Darwen in Lancashire. Swimming at both Blackburn and Darwen leisure centres, it is the areas premier competitive swimming club. Our goal is to enable swimmers to reach their swim potential within a friendly and driven environment. A huge congratulations to Eliza on being selected for the National Age Group Development Programme for 2026-27! 👏🏻

This Swim England initiative supports the next generation of talented young athletes as they build the foundations for future success at national and international level. The programme focuses on developing the technical, tactical, and behavioural skills that underpin long-term progression within the performance pathway.

Being selected for the programme is a fantastic achievement and recognition of the hard work, commitment and dedication Eliza shows consistently in training and competitions, and the whole club couldn’t be more proud of her 💙💛

A great way to start the new season and to bring down the curtain on MicroLeague 2026. Our Centurions scrapped and battled for every point available in Round 3, finishing in fourth place!

This put us fifth overall in Division B, another superb year for our young team, lots of whom have raced in 2026 for the first time ever.

Huge thanks goes to our fantastic poolside team and to parents/families for their amazing support all year👏🏻💛💙
