Daventry AAC Daventry AAC is an amateur athletic club based at the Stefen Hill Sports Ground. Winter training starts at 7pm. See website for further details.

Summer training is held on Tuesday evenings (7:00-8:30pm : Year 6+) and Thursday evenings (6:30-8:00pm : Year 3-7 & 7:00-8:30pm : Year 8+).

On Saturday the club had an entry in the MCAA & Derby Runner Autumn Road Relays (3.88 km course) where our under 18s finished in 7th place and first Northamptonshire team. Congrats!

At the weekend, at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham, Ethan Best competed in the English Schools 400m representing Northants in the Intermediate Boys age category. Ethan ran a speedy 51.80 (his 2nd fastest over 400m), came 5th in his heat and was 20th overall.

Over the two days of last weekend the East Anglia Region Combined Events competition was held in Bedford. Ethan Best represented the club in the Inter Boys Octathlon (a traditional Decathlon without the 100m and pole vault).

As well as some great individual event results (big points in 400m, 100m hurdles and 1500m) Ethan finished in an impressive 4th place overall.

The Mason Trophy inter-county schools competition took place at Northwood Stadium in Stoke on Saturday. 10 counties (Northants, Warwicks, Notts, Derbys, Staffs, Hereford & Worcs, Shropshire,
Cheshire, West Midlands & Greater Manchester) contest the trophy annually in a high quality event that is only one step below the English Schools Championships.

Congratulations to the following Club athletes who were selected to represent Northants:

Well done to Will for becoming Northants Schools 800m Champion after competing on Saturday at the County Track and Field Championships, finishing in a PB time of 2:05.3! He’ll now represent Northants at the Mason Trophy next Saturday Good luck Will, what a fantastic achievement!
