🏆 South Coast Championship – Deal Results

What a fantastic day for Deal at the South Coast Championships on 12th September!

🥇 U14 Coxed Quad – Junior Champions
🥇 Open Novice Four – Winners
🥇 Women’s Novice Four – Winners
🥈 Open Senior Four – 2nd Place
🥉 Open Masters 40+ Four – 3rd Place

Our Women’s Novice B crew also qualified into the final and finished strongly. They’ve had an amazing season, and we’re excited to see what next year brings!

Well done to our J16 Quad, Open Senior B, Open Novice B and Open Junior crews too, who all put in strong performances.

We’re incredibly proud of every crew who represented Deal! 💜

Jon’s Arch to Arch Challenge 🚣‍♂️🚴‍♂️
Dover Rowing Club - Est. 1846

We’d like to give a massive shout-out to our friend over at Dover Rowing Club, Jon, who is taking on an incredible challenge, the Arch to Arch Triathlon.

Jon will be taking on:

🚴‍♂️ London to Dover — 87 miles by hand bike
🚣‍♂️ Dover to Calais — 21 miles by rowing, completing the distance by rowing halfway and back due to regulatory restrictions
🚴‍♂️ Calais to Paris — 182 miles by hand bike

Jon is undertaking this challenge to raise money for Aspire, The Spinal Injuries Association, WheelPower and Dover Rowing Club

In 2016, aged just 36, Jon was diagnosed with rare tumours on his spinal cord. Following surgery and several months in hospital, including three months at the National Spinal Injury Centre for intensive rehabilitation, Jon has been left with permanent nerve damage from the waist down.
