LONG MESSAGE ALERT!
We just wanted to update you on the plans for the PTFA Committee after the end of term. You may remember that in May this year Jo Blackshaw (from the school office) and Sally stepped in temporarily to take on the role of Chair (as Co-chairs) and Tish stepped into the role of Secretary to make sure that we could go ahead with the events that were scheduled up to the end of the school year. We are so grateful for all your help to make the Sports Days and FunFest a success and your ongoing support selling Ice pops and supporting the upcoming discos.
At the end of the year Sally will step down so that she can enjoy her final year at Markeaton (after 13 years!) as a parent and Eve is also stepping back form her role of Treasurer after 6 amazing years of service.
Tish has kindly agreed to step in to the hard to fill role of Treasurer (with a supportive hand over from Eve) and Jo is keen to stay on as Co-chair next year if someone is prepared to Co-chair with her.
This means we have a couple of gaps in our Committee – a Co-chair position and the role of Secretary. The role titles don’t actually mean that much as we all work as a team to plan and co-ordinate events and call on support from all of you to make them happen. The key things the committee do are around creating an events schedule for the year, planning and comms/marketing, making sure we are up to date with our legal/ statutory requirements (like insurance and licenses for events) and lots and lots of shopping!
If you would be interested in finding out more about taking on one of the roles mentioned please reach out for chat – it really is a fun and rewarding thing to do (it’s just Eve and Sally have run out of energy now!). Without a full committee we can’t continue to run the events that the kids love so much, bring us together as a community and raise the much needed additional funds for school.
Feel free to drop us a PM via FB, reach out by emailing us at [email protected] or speaking directly to one of us 😊
Thanks for getting down to the end! 💕
