All 4 have successfully auditioned for Derby Youth Musical Theatres production of Shrek The Musical. The girls will be performing in the production from Thursday 17th - Sunday 20th September 2026 at Derby Theatre.

Morgan has successfully auditioned for Ballet Britains production of Cinderella for the 2026/2027 season. She will be performing at The Crescent Theatre, Birmingham from the 25th-27th March 2027. Well done Morgan!

💜HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY FIRST STAGE💜

On Saturday 1st June 1996, Miss Loraine opened First Stage Dance and Theatre Academy at the Scout Hut in Chaddesden with a handful of students. 30 years on, the school is one of Derby’s leading Dance and Theatre Academies with around 200 students and a timetable with over 70 classes a week. In January 2006 we officially opened our own premises which continues to be the home of First Stage today.

To celebrate this momentous milestone, on the 4th and 5th July we bring to you ‘A String of Pearls’, our 30th Anniversary show at Repton School Theatre, 400 Hall. Join us on our journey revisiting many ‘pearls’ and old favourites from previous shows with a fresh new look. Experience stunning choreography and glittering costumes during the performance which features ballet, tap, modern, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, commercial, acrobatics, aerial hoop, singing and musical theatre. Enjoy a vast array of creative and original pieces which have earned a multitude of Awards from competitions across the Midlands and beyond. 

We have around 100 tickets left across the 3 performances, with over 700 sold already! Join us to celebrate First Stage and all its achieved in the past 30 years, a truly special place that has shaped so many of us into the people we are today💜

We are so proud of you Matilda! After almost 14 years training with us at First Stage it’s almost time for the next chapter. Matilda works so hard in everything she does and we have loved watching her grow into the talented young woman she is today. Matilda is still making a decision if the professional industry is for her, but I’m sure whatever she chooses she will thrive.
