We play off 19 and 28m Anthony the pro who took the lesson was excellent, made it really enjoyable while concentrating on our concerns regarding our game. I highly recommend him for lessons. 𝐓𝐢𝐩 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐟 𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬: 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐟 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐬 - 𝐅𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨
Swing Tempo - The Core of Golf Basics: Pay close attention to the rhythm and timing of your swing, as it's at the core of golf basics. Maintaining a smooth and controlled tempo throughout your swing is vital. Many beginners make the mistake of swinging too quickly or forcefully, which can lead to inconsistency and mish*ts. Instead, think of your swing as a rhythm.
Start your backswing slowly and steadily, allowing your body to rotate and your club to reach the top of the backswing. Then, transition smoothly into the downswing, building up speed gradually as you approach impact with the ball. Finally, follow through with a balanced finish.
A controlled and balanced tempo, one of the essential golf basics, helps you maintain better control over your shots and improve your overall accuracy. It's often more effective than trying to hit the ball with sheer power. Practice your swing tempo regularly, and you'll see improvements in your golf game while mastering these golf basics.

In this weekly guide for Golf Enthusiasts, we will be providing golf tips on how to improve your golf Technique!

The grip is crucial in golf as it's the only point of contact between you and the club. It's vital for controlling the shot. There are various grip styles like the Vardon overlap, interlocking, and baseball grip. The key is finding one that feels comfortable and provides control.
𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞
Place your left hand at the top of the club for right-handed golfers, with fingers wrapped underneath the grip. The thumb should rest slightly to the right of centre.
Place your right hand below the left, gripping the club securely with fingers. The right thumb should be slightly to the left of centre.
The grip should be firm but relaxed, like holding a tube of toothpaste without squeezing it out.
Check that two or three knuckles of your left hand are visible and the 'V' formed by the thumb and forefinger of each hand points towards your right shoulder.
𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬
A proper grip improves control of the clubface at impact, leading to straighter shots.
It helps in generating power effortlessly.
Reduces the tendency to slice or hook the ball.
𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞
Practice gripping and re-gripping the club to build muscle memory.
Use a mirror to check your grip's alignment.
Swing a towel with your grip. A smooth whip indicates a fluid grip.
𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬
Avoid gripping the club too tightly as it can restrict wrist movement and reduce power.
Avoid a grip that's too weak or too strong to prevent the clubface from opening or closing at impact.
By focusing on these grip aspects, golfers can improve control and consistency, essential for a great golf swing.
