It was hard lines last night for LE as the Men's 2nd team went down narrowly to Ilkeston at their place. Some really close matches as you can see. Thanks go out to all involved, and roll on the next fixture! 🎾

You win some, you lose some...you win some! Great start to the season for LE Ladies, we appear to be the club that loves a 5-4 this year! Well played to everyone involved πŸŽΎπŸ™‚

You win some, you lose some...a tricky season for Men's 1 continues as we are toppled by Church Broughton. Thanks to everyone involved for turning out, and a special mention to James and Pete for going so close to grabbing a set or two with narrow losses across two tie breaks.

Grit and determination from the Grundy pairing in diminishing light gets us over the line for a 5-4 win in the mixed vs. Ashover 2nds.

Great effort from all involved!

All we can say, is what a transformation! As a volunteer run club we do what we can to make sure we can offer a decent playable surface for you all to enjoy, but this was certainly down to a special few.

Our chairman Gordon Thomson does an amazing amount of work at the club and without his determination and immense efforts this would not have been possible. A massive thank you to him for everything he has done and continues to do.

Helping out over the course of the week with getting things up to scratch was another of our long term members George Harris. He was hands-on assisting with his expertise to get this over the line. Again a huge thank you to him.

And of course our thanks to everyone else who was able to lend a hand, whether that be Simon Grundy with his grinder the other week keeping a few of the bumps at bay or Ian Fradley who also chipped in. If we've missed anyone out please be assured all efforts are greatly appreciated.

All-in-all, we hope you are pleased with the renovations. It's been hard work and those involved deserve all the credit.

Here's hoping you all enjoy the facilities throughout the season!

🎾 MATCH UPDATE 🎾

Woodlands 5 v 4 LE in the Mixed from Monday evening - such a close run affair narrowly losing out on two tie breaks that could have turned it on its head. Plenty of smiles at the end even if running on backup power well beyond 10pm! Great effort folks πŸ˜‰

After Mens 1 ended up on the wrong end of an 8-1 last week at Woodlands it was the turn of Mens 2 to take the trip to Ashbourne for an impressive 9-0 win! A very friendly and welcoming lot, with LE mens bringing the teas and Ashbourne treating us to a trip to their local afterwards. Great fun 🎾
