This year marks a huge milestone for Derby Co-op Bowls & Social Club as we proudly celebrate our 100th anniversary! 🏆

For a century, our club has brought together players, supporters, families and friends through a shared love of crown green bowls, community spirit and friendly competition.

To celebrate this special occasion, we’re excited to officially launch our Centenary Year celebrations — honouring our history, recognising everyone who has been part of our journey, and looking ahead to the future of the club.

Happy 18th Birthday Alex Tier. We all want to wish you the very best of luck in running the London Marathon, this coming Sunday (26th April). Alex is running in aid of the British Heart Foundation which is a charity very close to all of our hearts. What a great day of bowling for the Memorial Cup, even having four seasons in one day couldn’t deter our members. Fantastic to see so many entries for the first competition of the year

Final pairs needed to reach quota of 20 pairs.
No homesters.
Round robin format.

Big thank you to Kev Cook for building/repairing/painting the last three of these benches. He's done a fantastic job.

Kev's a modest man who doesn't crave praise but he's renovated about ten of these over the last couple of years. He's also brought in quite a few new bowlers.

Every club needs members like Kev.

Temperature is starting to drop regularly under 10° now so this will probably be the final cut of the year, at 10mm.

Despite spraying with iron there's still plenty of moss, but we'll treat that again in the new year.

Regular spiking prevents compaction and disease, and assists growth.

Areas that have been seeded since the season closed are coming along nicely.

Electric fence is up to keep away the foxes.
