🎾 2026 CLUB CHAMPS! 🎾

Our 2026 Club Championships are coming up, and this year we’re making them more fun, social and inclusive than ever! 💚

Whether you’re a regular competitor, haven’t played competitively before, or just fancy giving something new a go, there’s an event for everyone! We’d love to see as many of our members and non-member pay-as-you-go players getting involved as possible — and spectators are more than welcome too! Come along, support your fellow club members and enjoy some great tennis and padel. 👏🎾

📅 SATURDAY 12TH SEPTEMBER

🎾 Tennis
• 3–5pm — 16 & Under Boys & Girls
• 5–7pm — Women’s Singles & Doubles
• 7–9pm — Mixed Doubles

🎾 Padel
• 3–5pm — 18 & Under Boys & Girls
• 5–7pm — Men’s Doubles
• 7–9pm — Mixed Doubles

📅 SUNDAY 20TH SEPTEMBER

🎾 Tennis
• 12:30–1:30pm — 8 & Under Mini Red
• 1:30–2:30pm — 9 & Under Mini Orange
• 2:30–3:30pm — 10 & Under Mini Green
• 3:30–4:30pm — 12 & Under Yellow
• 4:30pm onwards — Men’s Singles & Doubles

🎾 Padel
• 4:30pm onwards — Women’s Doubles

💷 ENTRY
Members — £3.00 per event
Non-members — £5.50 per event

Doubles can be entered as a pair or individually — if entering individually, we’ll pair you up!
Junior events are individual entry only.

Contact Ellen for Saturday entries or Alex for Sunday entries to enter, and please bring the correct cash entry fee with you on the day.

🏃‍♀️ DERBYSHIRE RACKETS MARATHON 🏃‍♂️

You may have noticed the Derbyshire Rackets Marathon logo on the poster! We’re really pleased to announce that CB Tennis Club will be taking part in this fantastic charity event this year. 💙

Our contribution will be the 7–9pm Saturday slot, where we’ll be hosting the Mixed Tennis Doubles and Mixed Padel Doubles.

All entry fees from the mixed events will be donated to the Derbyshire Rackets Marathon as part of our club’s contribution, with further opportunities to donate during the event too. 💙

Fancy taking part in more than one event? PLEASE DO! 🎾

For example, if you’re playing in the Mixed Tennis Doubles, why not enter the Mixed Padel Doubles too? Although they are running at the same time, you can enter both — so don’t let the timings put you off!

We’d love to see as many people as possible getting involved across the Club Champs, whether you’re competing, supporting from the sidelines or simply coming along to enjoy the atmosphere.

So get involved, bring your friends and family along to support, and let’s make this year’s Club Champs a brilliant event for the whole club! 💚🎾

Our Ladies’ 1st Team were in action away at Melbourne on Tuesday evening — and they came away with a fantastic 7-2 victory! 🔥👏

A big thank you to Becky for stepping up to captain the team on the night! 😊

With just one match left this season, the team will be looking to finish the league campaign on a high! 💪🎾

Derbyshire League Action

Our Ladies’ 1st Team welcomed Woodlands to CB for a closely fought match. The team put up a great fight but narrowly missed out, with Woodlands taking the win 5-4.

A special mention to Georgia and Becky, who won all 3 of their matches! 👏💪

And of course, a big thank you to our honorary club mascot Winston 🐶, who was there to cheer the team on! 🎾

Our Men’s 2nd Team also faced Littleover, with Littleover taking the win 6-3. Well played to everyone involved! 👏

Burton League Action

Our Burton A Team put on a fantastic performance, taking a convincing 4-0 win against Burton! 🔥🎾

Well done to father-and-son pairing Ben and Jez, alongside dynamic duo Chris and Roger, who all won every match they played! 👏

The countdown is on! Our Summer Holiday Tennis Camps get underway next week, and there’s still time to book your child’s place.

Whether they’re new to tennis or already love being on court, our camps are packed with fun games, tennis activities, challenges and competitions in a friendly, welcoming environment.

🎾 Team Results Round-Up 🎾

It’s been a little while since our last results post, so here’s a catch-up on how our league teams have been getting on over the past few weeks!

Burton League Action

🎾 Our Men’s Burton League team earned a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Abbots Bromley. A special mention goes to Cristi and Tony, who came from behind to win an exciting match tie-break and help secure a great result! 👏

Derby League Action

🎾 Our Ladies’ 2nd Team took on Woodlands 3. Despite a strong effort, Woodlands came away with a 7-2 victory. Well played to everyone involved! 👏

🎾 Our Men’s 2nd Team edged a thrilling match against Woodlands 4, winning 5-4! A special mention to Ben and Chris, who secured 3 valuable wins for the team 💪

🎾 Our Mixed 3rd Team faced the league leaders, Woodlands, and were beaten 7-2. With Woodlands sitting top of the table at the time of the match, it was always going to be a tough challenge. Well done to the pairings who picked up wins! 👏

🎉 The Mixed 3rd Team bounced back brilliantly in their next fixture, defeating Duffield 6 by 6-3 to record their first win of the season! A special congratulations to Kate and Tim, who won all of their sets, while every CB pairing contributed with at least one win. A fantastic team performance! 💙

Well done to everyone who has represented the club over the past few weeks. Thank you to all the players, captains and supporters who continue to make our league teams such a success.

🎓 Huge congratulations to Coach Ben, who graduated from the University of Warwick this week with a First Class Bachelor of Science (with Honours) in Mathematics! 👏

Looking back, it all makes sense… whenever we were trying to work out if a coaching drill would work with the numbers, Ben was always our go-to person! 😂

We’re incredibly proud of everything he’s achieved. Balancing university with coaching is no easy feat, and graduating with a First is an amazing accomplishment.

Congratulations, Ben – we’re lucky to have you as part of the CB Coaching Family! 🎾

We organised a ‘Bottle Game’ to raise money for Ottie’s fund at our recent Friday Fun Night.

It raised £500 and today we let club members know at Jane’s Thursday Morning Coaching session.
