What a year to celebrate! Sarah marked 30 years of the swim school in January, and we hit 10 years in our own pool this May! Thank you to every family and team member who's been part of the journey 💙

A few highlights this issue:

🏊 Summer Crash Courses start Monday 17th August for two weeks (3:30pm, £80/week) - perfect for beginners through to length swimmers

👶 Baby & Preschool: Final classes on Sunday 19th July. Our new term starts on Monday 7th September

We're looking for an experienced swim teacher to join the team at Sarah Bates School of Swimming.

This role combines teaching with helping to organise our swim programme, including teacher rotas, lesson sheets and arranging staff cover.

You'll need:
🏊 Swim England Level 2 or STA Level 2 qualification (minimum)
✔️ Experience teaching swimming lessons
✔️ Great organisational and communication skills
✔️ A proactive, reliable approach

✨ Join our friendly, family-run swim school with over 30 years of helping children become confident swimmers.

Successful applicants will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

Our car park is there to make visits as easy as possible for the children and families attending lessons with us.

Over the weekend, we experienced limited parking availability for some of our customers, making it difficult for families attending lessons to find a space.

To help ensure spaces remain available when they're needed most, we'd kindly ask that the car park is only used by customers attending activities at our swimming pool.

The car park is managed by ParkingEye, and parking terms apply.

Sarah Bates School Of Swimming is looking for a reliable and organised Administrative Staff Member to join us!

⏰ Hours: 20 hours per week
📍 Location: Mostly remote / work from home, with occasional visits to the swim school for meetings

The Role

You’ll be responsible for:

Keeping track of payment reminders
Handling telephone bookings and customer enquiries
Supporting the smooth day-to-day administration of the swim school

What We’re Looking For

Strong organisational and communication skills
Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload
Reliable and self-sufficient for commuting to the pool when required
Friendly and professional telephone manner
Previous experience teaching swimming is a bonus, as it provides valuable context for the role
