Bonds Glen Cricket Club

As the dust has now settled, on Sunday our Seconds gained promotion up to League 3 ❤️

Away to Ballyspallen:-
BGs batted first and our lads finished on 195 in their 30 overs. Best batting from Simon Killen 50 and John Long 35.
In reply, Ballyspallen made a real fist of the run chase finishing just 28 runs short on 167. Ben Haslett picking up 4 wickets.

At the start of the season, promotion was seen as priority so we congratulate Dean Duncan and his team on this fantastic achievement 👏

Well done lads.

The icing on the cake would be the league cup too which the boys are in the final v Erne on Saturday and Sunday starting at 12 at the Glen

Would be great to have a good crowd up to support the team❤️

After a fantastic summer of cricket across our clubs and communities, we’re already looking ahead to the next season!

We’re inviting both male and female coaches, parents and volunteers across the North West Cricket Union to register their interest in completing an education course this winter.

Whether you’re an experienced coach looking to develop your skills, a parent who would like to get more involved, or someone who is completely new to volunteering, we’d love to hear from you! 🙌

There are opportunities to express an interest in:

🛡️ Safeguarding courses
🤝 Other volunteer education opportunities

You may have helped out at a club this summer, supported a youth team, assisted at training, or simply thought, “I’d like to get more involved.” This is your chance to take the next step.

Away to Glendermott

Batting first, we managed to accumulate 173 in our innings
Best batting from Heinrich Roberts 44, Johnny Haslett 42 and Samuel Haslett 30.

In reply, Glendermott struggled against some very disciplined bowling, especially from Dhram Singh(photo included)who finished with phenomenal figures of 5 for 15 off 10 overs including 5 maidens

Danie and his wife Simone heads home now on Wednesday.
We thank Danie for everything this season.
He has really fitted in so well around the club and community and has been a fantastic addition on the field with his classy batting and wicket keeping and off the field with his coaching.

Everyone at Bonds Glen Cricket Club were deeply saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Lyn "Butcher'" Buchanan at the weekend.

Lyn was a frequent visitor at the Glen when his sons, Ash and Adam Buchanan played at the club

We would like to pass on our heartfelt condolences to his wider family at this very difficult time for everyone

Batting first, BGs batted really well to finish on 242 in their 30 overs
Brilliant century from Simon Killen finishing on 106 (photo included), also contributions from John Long 57 and RT 32

In reply, Killyclooney fell well short of the total finishing on 78.
Phenomenal figures of 3 wickets for 0 runs from Adam Thompson and then 2 wickets a piece for Daniel Witherow, Rt and Mark Robinson to seal a comfortable win

Yesterday our firsts played Letterkenny

Batting first, the BGs amassed a fantastic total of 465 in the 50 overs.
Heinrich Roberts top scoring with 122(photo included), William McClintock 91 and Dhram Singh 89.

In reply, Letterkenny lost wickets early and were never really in the chase.
Best bowling from Mark Robinson with 4 for 24 and Danie Rossouw 3 for 17.

Another clinical performance 👏
