Not every harness suits every person & everyone has their own personal preference when it comes to fit, comfort and the job at hand. 👷‍♂️

At AMG, we stock a range of safety harness options including SpanSet harnesses and the Abtech Sirocco harness, with options suitable for overhead line work, working at height and different site requirements.

From premium harnesses through to more mid-range options, we can help you find something that suits both the work you’re doing and your budget.

Need a new harness or not sure which option is right for you? Give the AMG team a shout.

One of the biggest challenges on site is knowing exactly where your lifting equipment is and that it’s been stored properly.

That’s why we had our own chain rack manufactured for AMG & after seeing how well it works in practice, we can now supply the same setup to our customers.

Chain rack gives you one central location for lifting gear with multiple hook points, forklift access, 16 hook points in total + optional secure storage for shackles and tools.

It keeps equipment organised, visible and ready to go + helps reduce loss and wasted time searching for kit.

If you want to see how it could work for your site, just get in touch with the team today.

August was another busy month at AMG and one that brought a useful new addition behind the scenes too.

Across the month, our team recorded:

3,348 items passed
427 items failed
516 items of lifting equipment supplied
50 repairs completed and logged

The latest update to our software now allows repairs to be clearly recorded against individual items, making them easier to identify, trace and review as part of the equipment’s history. 🔎

It’s another small improvement that helps us give customers clearer records and better visibility over their equipment.

And September is already shaping up to be another busy one.

Our engineers will be back in England, travelling to the South of Ireland for a long-standing client, and undertaking further training as we continue to build on the service we provide.

Plenty happening at AMG & plenty more to come đź‘€

A Friday drop-off. Ready to work Monday morning 🚚 ⛓️👷🏼‍♂️

For businesses operating busy fleets, taking equipment out of service during the working week isn’t always practical.

That’s why Creagh Concrete were able to leave their van with us at AMG on Friday, allowing our team to carry out the full lifting equipment inspection while it was off the road.

During the inspection, we:

* Checked all lifting equipment
* Identified any items requiring attention
* Replaced equipment where necessary
* Completed certification ready for return to site

By Monday morning, the van was ready to go.

No additional downtime. No separate trips to source replacement equipment. No disruption to the working week.

It’s a simple example of how we try to make lifting equipment compliance as straightforward as possible for our customers.

If your fleet needs inspected but you can’t afford unnecessary downtime, speak to AMG about arranging inspections around your working schedule.

Cheaper isn’t always better… especially when you can’t repair it.

During a recent inspection, we came across this 26mm eye self-locking hook.

The issue? The trigger kit had failed, meaning the hook would no longer self-lock and couldn’t remain in service.

On the left is a brand-new William Hackett hook, showing exactly how the mechanism should look and perform.

The hook we inspected was manufactured by another brand and, unfortunately, we weren’t able to source a replacement trigger kit for it. That meant what could have been a relatively simple repair instead required the entire hook to be replaced.

It’s one of the reasons we choose to supply trusted manufacturers such as William Hackett.

When you purchase lifting equipment through AMG, we’re not only thinking about the price today. We consider the availability of replacement parts, ongoing maintenance and how easily we can keep that equipment safely in service further down the line.

A replacement trigger kit costs significantly less than replacing an entire hook.

Sometimes paying a little more for the right equipment at the beginning can save considerably more later.

New equipment. One inspection cycle. ⚙️

Tired of purchasing lifting equipment outside of your usual inspection cycle, only to end up with different pieces of equipment due for inspection at different times throughout the year?

With AMG Plant Testing, we keep things simple.

Our straightforward pricing structure means that if you purchase new lifting equipment from us and we’re back on site carrying out your scheduled inspections shortly afterwards, we can recertify those new items and bring them in line with the rest of your equipment.

So you’re not faced with additional call-outs and multiple inspection dates further down the line.

That means:
◾️One inspection cycle
◾️Fewer separate call-outs
◾️Less admin to keep track of
◾️ A simple, transparent pricing structure
◾️A more straightforward approach to keeping your equipment compliant

Because adding new equipment shouldn’t mean adding another inspection date or unnecessary extra cost to your calendar!

Have you machinery or lifting equipment operating across both Northern Ireland and England?

You might assume LOLER and PUWER work exactly the same way across both jurisdictions.

The requirements are very similar, but the legislation itself is different.

In England:
LOLER 1998
PUWER 1998

In Northern Ireland:
LOLER (NI) 1999
PUWER (NI) 1999

That distinction is important when your equipment is being inspected and your documentation is being produced.

For businesses with sites, machinery or lifting equipment operating across different jurisdictions, it’s another reason to work with an inspection provider that understands where your equipment is being used, not simply what is being inspected.

Our engineers have been busy on site with FP McCann, completing thorough examinations across six locations 👷‍♂️

In total, an incredible 3,951 items were inspected, helping to keep equipment compliant, traceable and ready for use.

These photos were taken during our recent visit to the FP McCann Macrete depot, just one of the six sites covered by the AMG Plant Testing team.

A huge thank you to FP McCann for continuing to trust our team with their inspections! 🤝
