Just another quick reminder that the Devizes mini-mon that was originally planned for 18th October (this Sunday) was officially cancelled on 18th September and appropriate notices detailing this fact was posted on multiple social media pages as well as the BJA listing the event as cancelled.

Those who "officially" entered the competition will have by now received their full refund. If you have any questions please either PM this page or drop us an email on [email protected]

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for some of our members!

🥈 Noah competed in an event hosted by Kazuko Judo Club, where he put in a fantastic effort and came away with a silver medal!

🥉 Dexter travelled to Bradley Stoke for a training day, followed by a fun competition at the end, where he won a bronze medal!

🥋 Logan travelled to High Wycombe for a training session, which he thoroughly enjoyed.

Keep up the good work guys 💪

Dragons Academy Open

A fantastic day for Devizes!

🥇 Finn — Finn won all 4 of his fights today, all by ippon, with some great throws along the way. A very well-earned gold medal!

🥇 Andy — Having only competed in one event before today, Andy continued his streak of gold medals with two excellent ippons.

🥇🥇 Ollie H — Ollie took gold in both the Cadets and Seniors. He had 4 fights in total, winning every one by ippon and picking up 20 points towards his 1st Dan.

🥈 Danuel — A good day at the office for Danuel, winning his contest with a big Uchi Mata. And only losing to his brother in his pool of 3.

🥈 D**g — In a group of 3, D**g came away with the silver medal. After losing his first fight in the most unlucky of circumstances, he bounced back brilliantly with a great transition to win his next contest. On another day, D**g could easily have come away with gold!

A fantastic day for Devizes, winning 12 contests and losing just 2 — with one of those losses coming against another Devizes player! 💪

Thank you to DRAGON'S ACADEMY JUDO BJJ 🐉 for putting on a great event! 🥋👏

Last night we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Evan Molloy to our Friday night judo session, fresh off the back of his incredible IBSA World Championship bronze medal! 🥉

Evan brought his World Championship medal to show the club, along with a recent European medal, and even brought back some gifts from the event for our judoka!

Some of the younger members had their photos taken with Evan who let them wear his medals. The children at Devizes judo are lucky to have such an amazing role model to look up to.

A very interesting interview with Tadahiro Nomura, the only judoka ever to win three Olympic gold medals, on what drove him to be one of the greatest ever Judoka.

We have taken the sad decision to cancel our mini-mon event that was to be held on Sunday 18th October. The reason we have decided to do this, and it hasn't been an easy decision, is because of the problems that the BJA online booking system has caused and it is out of our control. We simply don't know everyone who has entered. If we continued to host this event it would be chaos on the day and nobody wants that.

Devizes Judo Club has a good reputation for running an efficient, freindly mini-mon that multiple clubs and young judoka enjoy, especially as a first time competition. We do not wish to damage this by continuing with this particular event. Please accept our sincere apologies if you were attending this event. Full refunds will be returned in due course

If you have any queries regarding this issue, please email [email protected]
