Game Week 2

AFC Bentley 1-2 Sheffield Wednesday

Brilliant game today against Sheffield Wednesday. Very very unfortunate not to get a point in what was a very closely contested game.

Wednesdays took the lead mid way through the first half. A ball lobbed over our defence for there fast paced attacker who slotted into the bottom corner.
0-1

We returned fire pretty soon after going behind. Olivia with a huge kick over the top. Scarlett controlled brilliantly and lobbed the keeper from outside the box. Brilliant finish
1-1

The remainder of the first half and second half was really closely contested with Bentley looking the more likely to score.

5 minutes from time disaster struck. A hiccup between one of our defenders and goalkeeper gifting Sheff Wednesdays the win.
1-2FT

With the attitude of our team today I have no doubts we will fight our way back into this league. Playing a new formation for the first time. There were plenty of positives to take from today’s game. Well done girls. Great Effort 👏

Onto next week Away Vs Chesterfield.

Game Week 1

Doncaster Belles 5-1 AFC Bentley

Tough start to the season today for the girls. Playing in Division 1 for the first time.

We found our selves 3-0 down by half time, giving the girls a huge mountain to climb.

We got a goal back early on in the second half as Olivia and Abbie linked up.

Belles scored 2 more to eventually come out as 5-1 winners.

We have a lot to work on going forward as a team. But at least the girls know the levels they will need to play at to compete in this league.

On to the next one at Home in 2 weeks time against Sheffield Wednesdays.
